KAggie97 (2023), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle at Anchor, Wichita. Pours a deep, thick amber with a quick-rising head that leaves a nice lacing around the tulip glass. Aromas of sweet plumb and slight sugar swirl around in the nose and linger throughout the duration of drinking this beer. A blend of rich plumb and molasses swirls on the taste buds and tickles each one with a light prick of yeasty bread. Thick and full mouthfeel. Satisfying beer.
DA (2586), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Dec 1, 2008 Lighter amber/orange pour with a tall white head. Much lighter then I was expecting. Lots of fruit sweetness. Citrus, apricots, dry sweetness of fig. Dry finish with a nice carbonation to it that brought out a bit of spiciness. Soonah (531), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Dec 1, 2008 The pour was dark brown with auburn highlights. A compact off-white head produced some nice lacing. The aroma was malt, raisin, figs and some unchecked alcohol. The flavor was slightly smoky, malt, raisin and alcohol. The mouthfeel was average, carbonation was almost too tight. golubj (1085), Redwood City, California, USA Nov 30, 2008 bottle. orangey-brown pour with beige head. aroma is sugary malt, pit fruit, raisens, and chocolate. flavor is the same, sweet chocolate, pit fruit, sugar. amishcaravan (225), Winona, Minnesota, USA Nov 30, 2008 scent of raisens and fermented fruit. nice alcohol is not very well hidden but it does taste pretty good.
