One of the brightest stars in a city filled with culinary treasures, Christopher Elbow has been hand-crafting masterpieces in chocolate for more than ten years. In that time the reputation of his artistic delicacies has spread around the globe. Elbow’s sweets are distinguished by their use of unusual and sometimes surprising flavors and ingredients; in that adventurous spirit we joined forces to bring you a very special Chocolate Ale. Chocolate Ale is full of surprises, beginning with a glowing amber hue. The aroma is given over to earthy, fruity cocoa, with just a hint of hops. Smooth layers of dark chocolate intertwine with threads of caramel, vanilla, and nutty malt as the flavor warms and rounds to a bittersweet finish.

Cocoa powder and vanilla aroma. Light sweet taste with definite chocolate notes coming through. Light and lively in the mouth but definitely has some body to it. A bitter chocolate finish. Good, interesting beer.

An interesting beer, golden in color, fruity, chocolatey, a bit spicy, but the flavors never really come together perfectly and I’m left wanting slightly more of everything. I want to try this fresh.

Handsome dark golden beer under tan medium head. Subtle malty aroma with obvious chocolate overtones. Smooth on the palate with good carbonation, medium plus body and pleasant balance. Just a touch sweet with the chocolate which has both powdery dark and milky tones, mousse-like. Holds long and pleasantly. Fun.

Luktar Marabou mjölkchoklad. Och smaken är god led precis lagom lätt ton av oboy. Inte alls bittert men inte sötsliskig heller. Lätt vanilj ton men glömmer inte att det är en Ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle pours dark seminhazy orange with medium head. Nose is riund lightly fruity malt and grain with a touch of dusty spice and powdered hot chocolate. Taste is similar with a somewhat dull base and artificial tasting swiss miss hot cocoa. Finish is powdered cocoa and some light yeast spice and grain.

Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. I was expecting chocolate on the nose but the first thing I notice is a fruity aroma and then I get some chocolate in the background. Similar taste. It has a chocolate aroma but it isn’t the dark bitter kind.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber body with a large off-white head of limited durability. Aroma is dried cocoa powder, green peppers, vanilla, nuts, caramel and hints of bready malts and wet grass. Taste is vanilla, dried cocoa powder, vegetable-like pepper notes, caramel and hints of nougat, straw and grass. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Original? Yes. Flavorful? Indeed. Very good? No, but still fairly drinkable.

Copper with a big off white head. Aims is caramel and chocolate,. Malt forward with some chocolate yes, but less than I had expected. I hope this has faded on chocolate somehow because it s lighter than I wood have thought, but so is a nice beer and a surprising beer and I liked it
