4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
A coffee ALE? Not a coffee stout or porter? Reread the label and then drink up. This beer is excellent. The coffee is not subtle, but neither is it overwhelming. Sweet and pungent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle-conditioned 750ml. thick tan colored head on a lightly hazed dark brown body. cold coffee nose with chocolate cookie and dark cracker malts and faint metallic notes that seem to diminish after a short time. rich, frothy and soft carbonation provides explosive uplift of a sweet, peppery and tantalizing roasted coffee beans with ample alcohol warmth, fullness and sweetness in the finish with mild to moderate roasted bean astringency and noble hop bitterness. a lovely texture, sure enough thatís something you can count on from Boulevard. I didnít hesitate to buy but it took me a few days to come around to opening a 9% coffee beer, but here I sit enjoying the hell out of it. the coffee presentation is rich and flavorful and the body and carbonation are lush and satisfying. itís a play of warming and sweet alcohol with a soil / wet grain / oat richness and vibrant carbonation. a novel beer executed well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear brown pour with a big beige head that takes forever to fade. Huge coffee aroma with some nuttiness and toffee. Taste is a beer version of an awesome cup of coffee with cream and caramel. Itís got a nice roasty nutty character to it with little bitterness on the back end. Velvety texture. Very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 bottle. Pours dark brown with mahogany edges. Smell is sweet caramel malts, big roast coffee, nutty, breadiness. Taste is creamy caramel malts, very smooth roast coffee without any burnt bitterness, finishing spiciness. Nice coffee brew that comes extremely smooth but just a touch thin. Still good and delivered for not being a stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The appearance of this beer fuses a cloudy brown color with an immense sudsy head and some sediment. The aroma matches coffee with bread yeast, and the taste complements it with the midly sweet and slightly bitter mixture. Furthermore, the palate combines an average carbonation, medium body, slick texture, and a long dry and bitter finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Comes out of the tap an opaque mocha brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled wheat head. Quality coffee dominates the robust aroma. Coffee or beer? Who gives a shish-kebab. Malty flavor has a strong, almost overpowering note of high-end coffee, with hints of caramel, hops and rye. This is almost a stout! Firm texture has a good fizz, very lively. The best part of waking up is something like this in your cup. Or stein. Beer: Itís not just for breakfast anymore! :D

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ale met koffie afkomstig van die stad wat vermoor rapper "Mac Dre" gemaak.
Pours a dark brown with some reddish hues when held up to the light, the head is big, off white, and leaves some lacing on the glass. It pretty much looks like a glass of coffee with a head.
The Aroma is rich and very coffee forward, itís a roasty smelling beer and has a stinkiness that is very mild and very hard to put my finger on.
The flavor is very enjoyably bitter with lots of fresh coffee flavor. The flavor is deeply roasty but by no means has any sort of "burnt" quality, the beer is not especially dry but not as sweet as many coffee beers by a long shot. The beer has a touch of alcohol spiciness, but not a ton of alcohol flavor for a beer as big as this is. Itís lightly fruity, with some light cocoa, but basically itís a boozed, carbonated, iced coffee kind of drink... which is awesome.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle - $8.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Batch Number/Best By Date: 2013-1 10-2013.
Appearance: Pours a well-clouded, opaque, mahogany body with a rather tall, lofty layer of browned suds.
Smell: Heavy coffee scent atop what seems to be a big, bolstered brown ale with dense notes of toasted bread crusts, packed brown sugar (dark, natch), cocoa powder. Some cutting alcohol tones noted, some estery kicks, too.
Taste: Dive into a thick pile of bread crusts layered in sweet-tasting dark brown sugar given a pinch of chocolate powder. Yeah, youíve got a little caramel, too. Some raisiny fruitiness noted. Hops are present, yielding some bitterness and struggling citrus to adjoin the alcohol warmth. Plenty of coffee character throughout. The booze ratchets up, eventually overtaking the other tastes, and lasting until the dry, boozy, coffee-laced finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Highly carbonated, though it settles out within a reasonable timeframe.
Overall: Imperfect, but shows hopeful promise. I would revisit a later batch. No, really, I would!
