Comes out of the tap an opaque mocha brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled wheat head. Quality coffee dominates the robust aroma. Coffee or beer? Who gives a shish-kebab. Malty flavor has a strong, almost overpowering note of high-end coffee, with hints of caramel, hops and rye. This is almost a stout! Firm texture has a good fizz, very lively. The best part of waking up is something like this in your cup. Or stein. Beer: Itís not just for breakfast anymore! :D

bottled. pours mohogany with a light tan head. aromas of toast, coffee, and brown sugar. a touch of bitterness, medium bodied, thick texture. finish is lasting, yet surprisingly coffee is not formost. its a burnt toast overall decent and well balanced, but nothing special.

Ale met koffie afkomstig van die stad wat vermoor rapper "Mac Dre" gemaak.
Pours a dark brown with some reddish hues when held up to the light, the head is big, off white, and leaves some lacing on the glass. It pretty much looks like a glass of coffee with a head.
The Aroma is rich and very coffee forward, itís a roasty smelling beer and has a stinkiness that is very mild and very hard to put my finger on.
The flavor is very enjoyably bitter with lots of fresh coffee flavor. The flavor is deeply roasty but by no means has any sort of "burnt" quality, the beer is not especially dry but not as sweet as many coffee beers by a long shot. The beer has a touch of alcohol spiciness, but not a ton of alcohol flavor for a beer as big as this is. Itís lightly fruity, with some light cocoa, but basically itís a boozed, carbonated, iced coffee kind of drink... which is awesome.

Appearance: Pours a well-clouded, opaque, mahogany body with a rather tall, lofty layer of browned suds.
Smell: Heavy coffee scent atop what seems to be a big, bolstered brown ale with dense notes of toasted bread crusts, packed brown sugar (dark, natch), cocoa powder. Some cutting alcohol tones noted, some estery kicks, too.
Taste: Dive into a thick pile of bread crusts layered in sweet-tasting dark brown sugar given a pinch of chocolate powder. Yeah, youíve got a little caramel, too. Some raisiny fruitiness noted. Hops are present, yielding some bitterness and struggling citrus to adjoin the alcohol warmth. Plenty of coffee character throughout. The booze ratchets up, eventually overtaking the other tastes, and lasting until the dry, boozy, coffee-laced finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Highly carbonated, though it settles out within a reasonable timeframe.
Overall: Imperfect, but shows hopeful promise. I would revisit a later batch. No, really, I would!

On tap. Comes reddish brown with a nice biege head. Aroma of coffee and caramel. Taste is coffee, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. Coffee does not overpower. Very nice.

Medium amber with a white head. The aroma is tons of freshly brewed coffee and a bit of caramel. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of coffee and some milk chocolate. There is also some toffee and caramel. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I really like that this is a coffee beer that is not a porter or stout since the roasted malt notes donít accompany the coffee. Reminds me a lot of Boulevard Chocolate Ale. Great stuff.

bottle. clear brown with stable, medium, foamy, beige head. strong bitter, ground coffee nose. robust coffee flavor. probably the most "coffee" flavor as coffee beers get, but with an appropriate malt sweetness. lighter notes of caramel. medium body. itís good...it manages robust bitter coffee with enough sweet malt backing with the addition of creamy oats. awesome. if you want a coffee beer, this is it.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2013 2013 bomber to a snifter. Colors is dark brown and amber with a fizzy off white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is vegetal with coffee. Roasted coffee taste with a slight grassy hop taste at the end. Medium dry mouthfeel with lots of carbonation.

Medium brown with a lot of cream head. Smells of coffee ground, weeds, vegetal. A strange taste with the same sort of vegetal, weed, herbal taste. Not a lot of coffee though, coffee ground a little, roasted. Not sure what to think of it, very unique. You should definitely try it.

Bottle pours mahogany brown with beige fizz that filled half the glass. Earthy aroma of coffee, toasted bread and some dark tree fruits. The toasted barley is quickly matched by earthy coffee with a nice feel that is paired well with fruits of the yeast. Earthy spiced hops equal the dryness to almost recreate toddy palate with a carbonated backing. Rye grains show slightly with the peppery earthy tone. Hops and coffee linger for spicy earthy feel of toddy with a zing from the acidity from coffee and lively carbonation. As it goes it starts to feel like a toddy mixed with a ruby English brown ale, really not a bad approach, works quite well as a happy medium of beer graced with coffee.
