COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Neighbors for nearly twenty years, Boulevard Brewing Company and The Roasterie share a passion for making extraordinary beverages. In Coffee Ale, our two celebrated brewing traditions come together in a long-awaited collaboration. Ethiopian Sidamo from Africaís Great Rift Valley has been carefully blended with rye, oats, and malted barley, and spiced with Perle and Styrian Golding hops. The delightfully fragrant beer presents a glowing, tawny-amber hue. The clean, crisp acidity of the air-roasted coffee mingles with malt on the palate, lingering faintly in a subtly sweet finish.

Pours a very deep amber with a full, creamy beige head that is long lasting. The aroma is roasted, with a large amount of coffee, along with caramel, toffee, and hints of chocolate and nuts. The taste is a bit sweet. In addition to the expected coffee, I find a lot of maple and toffee. Less chocolate yet more vanilla. It reminds me somewhat of a syrupy flavor actually. Medium in body, with more of a creamy texture. Aftertaste is coffee, vanilla, and maple, is quite potent, and lasts awhile. Overall this is very good. Its a little different, and packs a good punch. It could be a little less sweet, but the pros in this one easily outweigh the cons.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Jay! Dark reddish pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of lots of roasted coffee bean, hints of roast, chocolate, nice caramel, toffee, hints of earth. Taste is a mix of slight coffee, hints of roast, toffee, hints of grass, slight burnt caramel, finishing fairly bitter, slightly roasted. Kind of disappointing.

Pours a very deep red that is nearly brown with a off white almost tan head. Aroma is huge roasted mocha, hazelnut, thereís a bit of molasses, and dark fruit. Fairly sweet smell. Taste is mostly coffee as expected, good bit of spice, some milk chocolate, with hints of dark fruit. Unexpectedly light bodied, medium carbonation and the 9.3 abv is well hidden. Very good, maybe a bit too light bodied than you would expect.

Second beer of the Run Before You Crawl 5K and Pub Crawl. There are some stouts that have coffee flavors which can be enjoyed by those who donít love coffee. This beer is coffee incarnate. Looks like coffee, smells like a coffee, and tastes a helluva lot like coffee. Luckily, I enjoy a good cup of joe. Alcohol is well hidden. I did not realize this clocked in at 9.3% until I logged into Ratebeer. Draft - Augustineís - Atlanta, GA

750 ml bottle. Dark brown pour with a small, off-white head. Big aroma of coffee. Some mild caramel and toffee notes, as well as fruit notes. Flavor of strong, rich, delicious coffee. I mean, this beer is simply but clear: itís coffee. Itís an ale. And it does work. This is nice. Full bodied, lots of rich coffee. Nice beer.

A coffee ALE? Not a coffee stout or porter? Reread the label and then drink up. This beer is excellent. The coffee is not subtle, but neither is it overwhelming. Sweet and pungent.

bottle-conditioned 750ml. thick tan colored head on a lightly hazed dark brown body. cold coffee nose with chocolate cookie and dark cracker malts and faint metallic notes that seem to diminish after a short time. rich, frothy and soft carbonation provides explosive uplift of a sweet, peppery and tantalizing roasted coffee beans with ample alcohol warmth, fullness and sweetness in the finish with mild to moderate roasted bean astringency and noble hop bitterness. a lovely texture, sure enough thatís something you can count on from Boulevard. I didnít hesitate to buy but it took me a few days to come around to opening a 9% coffee beer, but here I sit enjoying the hell out of it. the coffee presentation is rich and flavorful and the body and carbonation are lush and satisfying. itís a play of warming and sweet alcohol with a soil / wet grain / oat richness and vibrant carbonation. a novel beer executed well.

Clear brown pour with a big beige head that takes forever to fade. Huge coffee aroma with some nuttiness and toffee. Taste is a beer version of an awesome cup of coffee with cream and caramel. Itís got a nice roasty nutty character to it with little bitterness on the back end. Velvety texture. Very good.

750 bottle. Pours dark brown with mahogany edges. Smell is sweet caramel malts, big roast coffee, nutty, breadiness. Taste is creamy caramel malts, very smooth roast coffee without any burnt bitterness, finishing spiciness. Nice coffee brew that comes extremely smooth but just a touch thin. Still good and delivered for not being a stout.
