Bottle poured a rich clear brown hue w/ large brown head diminishing to a thin full cap. Moderate roast and bread aromas. Initial flavor moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are dark roast coffee, fig, molasses, rye bread, orange citrus, and brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation, and warmth in the finish.

Una signora imperial stout, molto complessa. Dal corpo consistentemente denso e un sapore di caffť scuro e frutta scura come prugne o fichi, leggeri toni erbacei. Finale che ricorda líaffumicatura di un sigaro. Gnam!

Smells excellent. A hint of dark fruit, oak. Looks like your typical strong dark stout.
Taste and palate are OK. Wish I read the bottle.. Belgian yeast and stout? Itís a mostly good stout.. but the effects of the yeast hit you toward the end and the smoky taste seems somewhat artificial -- they must have got that "smoke" recipe from a Stewarts Brewing in Delaware.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle opens with loud "pop" of escaping gas to reveal a nice looking dark brown beer with a thick foamy beige head that lasts a while. Nose of light balsamic, sour cherries, and stewed prunes. Flavor of sweet soy, macerated stone fruit, and brown sugar over a sour base punctuated by a robust bitterness of dark coffee, unsweetened cocoa, and black licorice. The sweet-sour-bitter trifecta is well balanced, although none of the flavors really distinguishes itself. A good, sippable stout, but Iíve had better.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 330ml Arkadia. Dark opaque brown color, good steady brown head. Aroma has some cellary and tart notes, licorice and smokeyness. When warms up, more pleasant roasted aroma. Full-bodied. Roasted malty, dark chocolate, alcohol and licorice. Heavy stuff. Good but not particulary interesting strong impy.

Excellent stout. Lots of toffee, dark fruit and chocolate. Some burned sugar in there too. Pretty nice, black as night beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very nice Stout, My 4 pack had a yearís worth of dust on it - so it may not have been as fresh or pampered as it should have been. Very nice nose on this Imperial Stout, full bodied taste and an interesting finish that is a little too complex to describe accurately, but it is close to a cross between a Maple Porter and a Black Strap Molasses Porter. I would love to taste this fresh on draft - since Iím a Raiderís Fan may need to plan a trip to Arrowhead so I can get the real thing live, itís that good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black with a decent sized brown head that has solid retention, uneven bubbles. Itís a good looking brew. The aroma is a bit lactic. There is some light chocolate, a tad bit of coffee. There is a residual sweetness that stays on your tongue. The taste has a nice milk chocolate flavor, sweet dark fruits, some roasted coffee on the finish. The plate is a little thinner than your typical IS but very drinkable.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle purchased a year ago at Holiday Wine Cellar ($2.99). Pours black with some brownish highlights and a big three fingers of dark brown foam that leaves lots of lacing. AROMA of roasted nuts, dark malts, light charred wood, and coffee. FLAVOR of dark espresso, hard roasted and semi-burnt malts, interesting rich smokiness, bittersweet dark chocolate, and some dark fruits. Dry finish. Quite roasty but also has a very mild sweetness which works well here. Cannot necessarily distinguish the various grains nor the Belgian yeast here, but still a good impy stout. (657, 824)
