Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

Poured a jet black with a fine foamy tan head. Nose is full of malt, caramel sweetness. Had a huge roasted palate full of char. Tart, rounded with a sugared smoothness.

Nice dark black/brown color with a aroma of Belgian yeast and faint roasted malt. Body is a little thin than anticipated, but works nicely with all that is going on. Not the best imperial stout I've had, but solid.

Bottle. Rich, roasted malt with Belgian yeast, dark fruit and chocolate malt notes. Beautiful black pour with a thin light brown head with excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt with a bit of spicy Belgian yeastiness to go along with a silky smooth mouthfeel and full body. Finishes nice and smooth with chocolate and a little bit of dark fruit to round it out nicely. Excellent stout.

Dark in color with off-white head. Aroma is an odd blend of Belgian yeast and sweet roasty notes. Flavor is roasty followed by sweet dry fruit with a light bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This imp stout poured a deep black with a big, beautiful brown, creamy head. Scents include coffee, cocoa, and light smoke. First swig had substantial carbonation with a thick, med sweet mouthfeel. Flavours of coffee, smoke and roast most prominent. Finish is roasty and smoked and lingers for quite a while.

Very dark, cola looking beer with a frothy, brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate and dark fruit. Tastes of dark/bitter chocolate, some plums, raisins, and hints of molasses. Bittersweet cacao finish. Some spices finish up the flavor profile. Chalky and dry mouth feel. Flavors open up as it warms a bit. Excellent balance of sweet and bitter in this one.

Backlog from lost & found notes: Aroma of sweet but yet roasted malts, dark choco, dark bread, tar. Taste is complex and brings a plethora of taste experiences. Prunes and raisins, sweet dark fruits, burnt caramel, nuts, black peppercorn, tobacco and sea salt. Very complex and superb.
