1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Very disappoint in this beer, priced as if it were premium craft. Underdeveloped, over-carbinated, boring, hot, and simple. I don’t mean to unnecessarily blast this beer, suffice to say I considered dumping it out to pour something better.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a really nice stout. I was lucky to get while visiting the Kansas City area. Mellow for an Imperial stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Cocoa, roasty, black licorice aromas. Chocolate, syrupy, roasty, malty, figs, and slightly boozy flavors. A solid beer, but not quite as good as other Smokestack beers.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark black with a little red tinge and brown head. That blegian yeast gives a bit of fruit pie and berry notes that mix well enough with toast and chocolate. Sweet jésus this is a nice balanced brew with toast roast and a bit of nutmeg spice. Good length and complex. Wish I had another one to age. Very good.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance was motor oil with creamy lasting mocha 3 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are deep fruits, cherry, toffee, marzipan, soft coffee and chocolate, no alcohol. Taste are fruits of fig, prunes, plum, cherry, licroce upfront, then soft black, roast malts come to play. The glorious soft smooth alcoholic balanced finish. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with slick oily full body, then lasting balanced brew. Overall a beautiful example of an American Stout, well done Boulvard. Vintage 2013

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This looked good just pouring it. A nice thick black fluid with a dig tan head. Heavy roast aroma and some dark fruit. Taste of coffee and cocoa. This is one of the really good ones.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to goblet. ,,,appearance: Dark black color. Thick. Above avg. Tan head.....Aroma is whiskey, rye, toasted barley. ..... Taste is plum , BlackBerry, oolong tea? Some chocolate. Something a little funky and overly sour at the finish, but it doesn?t ruin it. Feel is silky smooth, with lasting carbonation. The head seems to reform every time I put the beer down with a slight drop.Glad I picked this 4 pack up in VA, since I?ve not seen it in NJ. Aging one of the bottles.Good stout.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottles from Capone’s and Whole Foods PM. Pours deep blacl with tan head. Nose is cacao, fruit, blackberry raisin, yeast. Tastes dark malty, with cacao, blackberry, fig, yeast, well hidden alcohol, but not to the Plato degree or intensity that I would crave from an RIS> Not bad, more like a fruity porter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Best NY 11/25/16. Pours black with a sizeable light tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, tons of Belgian dark fruits come through. Plums, raisins, figs, smells like a quad with intense roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, big Belgian quad fruits, some spice character, and bitter coffee finish. The Belgian quality and dark fruits really stand out here.
