COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

12 oz Bottle. Pour is awfully dark. No light coming through when held up to a lamp. Head is medium and tan, a little fluffy. Nice looking overall. I get a good amount of spiciness from the nose right away. A slower, deep inhale reveals some stout character. A little dark fruit, some roast. Sipping it, the carbonation is a little high in my opinion. I know itís got a Belgian yeast in there but, Iíd have toned it down a notch, personally. Itís more a stout than a Belgian. Itís pretty good though, the flavor is rather fruity. Long finish that coats the tongue, but the lively carbonation distracts. Itís good, it could be great.

Bottle from Ericandersnavy, thanks! Black and opague. Apple syrup, licorice and cream in the aroma. Roasty alcoholic flavor with licorice and apple syrup. Velvety mouthfeel. Almost full bodied and well balanced.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a red shine. The aroma has notes of spices and sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and chocolate, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

12oz bottle @ The Meddlesome Moth, had with a terrible pie .. . Pours a deep brown black, great thick foam .. . dark roast, touch of heat, light almost bourbon oak and tar .. . quite an enjoyable brew, probably amazing with a year on it, quite an underated imperial stout.. . so cutting one wire stops a bomb, ok?

750 mL bottle shared at the July Santa Cruz tasting. Pours clear darkest brown with red highlights and a fluffy light brown head. Aroma is boozy with dark chocolate and some smokey molasses. A touch of dark fruits too. Flavor has notes of dark chocolate, acidic red fruits, mild prune, and black coffee. Also some chocolate cake and dark caramel as well as a bit of burnt, roasted character. Palate is soft and moussey for such a big stout. Pretty nice beer.

A veritable bouquet of aroma that includes Count Chocula cereal, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, floral notes from the hops, earthy base aromas, hints of alcohol, soy sauce, and molasses. Deep brown with a frothy head, this ale has light sweetness and bitterness. The aromas resonnate while tasting, the medium bodied ale softly slides across the tongue. Overall, there is enough complexity to retain interest until the last drop. Would love to try a version that substitutes some American hops for the noble hops.

Pours a thick dark brown color with a large foamy brown head that lightens. What a boozy beer and I like it. Notes of spicy hops, dark chocolate liqueur, smoke, caramel, char, and a little bubble gum. The fusion of all the ingredients play very well with one another to create a unique expression that works well.
