4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours out black with a brown foam head. Aroma is like semi sweet chocolate and dark coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, cream, coffee, and a spice I cant pinpoint but nutmeg comes to mind. I liked Itís drink-ability and the complex flavors/aroma from pour to belch. I would pay to drink this again. ( I traded a DR9 for it and several others - Thanks Aaron)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark black color with tan head and there is much more carbonation than I would have expected. Aroma is fairly weak with subtle notes of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is initially a mild smokiness and coffee but transitions into some hop bitterness. The body is medium and much lighter than most imperial stouts. This beer isnít bad but the Green Flash double stout I had earlier today, and the Old Rasputin I had yesterday, are both far superior.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitch black pour with a full finger head of deep tan. Nose is super rich, heavy black coffee, dark chocolate, bitterness is present. Flavor is super bitter for an imperial stout, rich dark chocolate and black coffee. Roasted malts also present. Lighter body than Iíd have liked, but decent. Overall, nice

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle. Black appearance, coffee bean smell mixed with raisins or plums. The taste is chocolate and coffee with a little bit of those plums and a very small amount of chile pepper spice. Itís rich, satisfying, and smooth, and it confirmed my confidence in Boulevardís Smokestack Series.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2012 Amazing thickness to this one. Sticks with you and holds with any temperature. Very impressive mix of flavors. Has more to offer than I thought and it is totally worthy of the price that goes along with this excellent brew.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours an absolute black with a full and frothy tan head. Rich and roasted aroma of espresso, licorice, fig, and smoke. Taste has lots of the same impressions, but they are just more extreme in their strength. Much more of a smoky, and roasted flavor while big in espresso still. Has a dark fruity feeling as well. Slightly sour. Full in body with a thick texture. A bit of a bitter finish of smoky licorice. Outstanding effort with this one. I really enjoyed this.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roast, burnt smell with hint of sweet coffee. Alcohol taste was a bit too prominent and killed a lot of the taste, but did have a decent dark chocolate/coffee character. Overall not bad, but wouldn't get it again.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark dark brown with tan head and lace. Woody ashy espresso herbal aroma with a hint of burn. Espresso dark chocolate ashy roasted mild fruit and very clean mildly bitter dry roasted earthy finish. Excellent.

12oz into Boulevard tulip
A- Jet black, huge spongy dark brown head with staying power.
S- A bit of roasted/smoked malt, but lacking in aroma overall.
T- Roasted malt, dark fruits, a little bitter and a tiny bit sour finish, alcohol is well masked.
M- Low carbonation, thin for this ABV, very drinkable.
O- Nice stout, but at this price point I would not buy this again.
