4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich, thick black color with a big dark brown head. Roasted malts yielding bitter chocolate, espresso, with some Belgian yeast spice notes. Well balanced given the style.

Poured out of at 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Poured pitch black, tan 2 inch head. Looks amazing.
Smell: Burnt malt, a fruit... fig? smell. I like it.
Taste: Toasted/burnt malt and espresso. The maltiness stays on the back of the tongue nicely. The bitter comes in at the end at the perfect moment.
The great head on the lips, like a cappuccino and then the smooth liquid. Barely any carbonation. Nice and smooth.
Excellent. A great tasting stout and very drinkable. And just noticing that it is 9.7% ABV... never would have guessed by the smoothness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured black with a huge light-tan stable head. Aroma has some alcohol with hops. Some dark fruity notes with raisins. Chocolate and caramel. Taste has lots of chocolate with some coffee. Toffee and brown sugar. Alcohol is better hidden than in the aroma. Aftertaste is a bit sweet with more chocolate and milk chocolate. Not bad!

Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured jet black with a bubbly, tan head. Nice retention. Thick, full mouthfeel. Lots of roast, coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla sweetness. Toasted grains, and a light almondy finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2012 Smell is coffee, alcohol, toffee, roasted richness. Flavor is similar - some Belgian yeast as well, like plums, which is to my liking as a Belgian fan. Pairs well with the small cake I am having now. Well balanced imperial stout - ABV well hidden also.

Bottle. Smoky malty aroma. Poured a dark brown/black color with a kakhai top and nice lacing. Taste is alcohol, chocolate, coffee, toast, and caramel. Too watery on the palate for an impy stout. All in all, a nice brew, but there are far better imperial stouts out there. Cheers

A great stout with a really nice mix of coffee, smoke, and fruit flavors. Some surprising notes in the aroma and taste for a stout, but welcome complexity. Love how well-masked the alcohol is while still asserting itself.
