COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Pours a handsome orange copper or brick orange color. Fat creamy head of khaki foam sits on top and last and lasts. Leaves a thick ring, a film on top and spots and sheet of lace to slide down the glass as it drinks. The nose is bright with citrus and deep with malt. I noticed lemon and lime at first. There is brown sugar and caramel , the icy sweetness of the lemon peel and a bit of cool mint in the back ground. A floral pervades and lightens the nose. A touch of grapefruit and some earth and pine.

Taste is sweet with some rich caramel and a bit of brown sugar. The citrus is struggling a bit to meet the hefty malt flavor but it does. And itís juicy. A bit of tangerine develops as it warms. There is a distinct herbal character in this one that makes it terribly pleasant. Itís a bit of mint some sweet grass and a faint spice thatís hard to describe. it has a leafy sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium but almost full and when you realize the strength of the malt presence you then are happy at the ease of the mouthfeel. This beer keeps a delicate balance and does it rather well. The pungent herbal and the fruits all come together as the beer warms to finally outpace the steady caramel. Finishes almost dry but with a touch of sweetness and residual sugar.

Very good.

Pours a nice amber color. Citrus, orange, lemon, some grapefruit, and pine on the nose; all follow onto the palate. The caramel malt gives this a sweeter finish and balances out the hop profile nicely.

Nice hoppy aroma with citrus some maltiness. Pours a dark brown/amber with large head. Very malty. Hops are understated, particularily in the finish. Not too bad; the aroma didnít follow through to the flavour.

Pours a deep orange/brown, slightly off white head with fat bubbles. Aroma is full of caramel malts, pine hop, faint citrus peel. Taste is super malty, caramel, bready, quite bitter hop.. orange and grapefruit rind.. Not much fruit overall. Very high carbonation, contributes to dry bitter finish.
