Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Bottle. Hazy copper with a huge yellowish head. Orange and caramel nose. Starts out moderately sweet, but follows a more complex route with some sourness, smoke and citrussy hop bitterness. Mellow citrus. Original.

12oz bottle thanks to Lukaduke! Pours dark clear ruby red with big 3 finger head. Nose is sweet malty fruit, medicinal cherry, hints of piney lemon. Taste is heavy malt, sweet robitussin cherry, cranberry, touches of pine and citrus. Finish is bitter and sweet fruity malt. Well made but just not a big fan of this style ipa.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange copper with a small white head. Aroma is mild but nice for a dipa, apricots pine apple and some grape and caramel. Taste is dry of grape & pine with refreshing carbonation. Dry aftertaste, distinct grape and orange bitterness. Well balanced but lacks some dipa sweetness

Cloudy orange, small pale head. Grapefruit aroma. Distinctly bitter but pretty well balanced, and once again a lot of blood grapefruit. Quite dry, medium carbonation. Bit dry, but still a very good DIPA.

Slightly orange brown with a foamy white head. Generous lacing. Nose is faint fruity hop. Taste is fairly bitter, but milder than most west coast IPAs. Medium body, vigorous carbonation. Good IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaske 0,75l fraVinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Mørkebrun/amber. Veldig høyt tett skum som varer. Fin lacing. Herlig fruktaroma. Fersken. Rik fruktsmak. Plommer & mandler. God fylde. Syrlig & litt tørr ettersmak. Brukt som drikke til fårikål - og det passet utmerket.

Pours amber with an off white head. There is a lot of hop aroma in this beer and you get a pleasent floral aroma, drinking it is a balanced beer. The hops are backed up by malty flavors, and at 8.5 % ABV. Flavor has loads of hop bitterness, some caramel. Loads of hops and a very good double IPA.

12oz bottle poured into my ipa glass. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a thick fluffy off white head that stays the whole time. Leaves great lacing as well. Smells of pine, apricot, peach, citrus and caramel. Tastes of the same things that are in the smell with a slight hop bite in the back end. Mouthfeel is slick and creamy with good carbonation and a dry finish. One of the more unique tasting ipas around. Very smooth, you can’t taste the higher abv like you can in some double ipas. Another masterpiece in the smokestack series.

interesting hops flavor - more mild apricot than any other IPA I can recall tasting. Nicely balanced with just the right caramel malts for a very easy to drink, slightly sweet taste and just a hint of bitterness on the backside. This is an IPA that anyone would enjoy, beer snob or otherwise... Definitely worth trying, and if you are in Kansas City, MO I think it would be worth a trip to see where it is made.
