Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a copper color and hazy with a nice off white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, and mango. Taste of grapefruit, lemon, and some soapy notes. There is also a few sweet malt notes in there, but I found the hops to be dominant and very tasty. This was a nice extra I got in a trade. The best by date was even stamped in July but this was still awesome!

Big flavorful nose and sweet hoppy body. A little bit chewy of a mouthfeel but not too bitter.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Paper hotel cup From: Total Wine in Ballantyne (Charlotte), N.C. Price: $2.99 Purchased: July 30, 2014 Consumed: Aug. 1, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel, amber color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki white head. Good foamy lacing on the sides of the cup. Good retention on the top all the way down. Smelled caramel malts, soapy pine, peach, dried apricot, citrus hops and floral hops. Tasted similar to the nose. Got caramel malts, wet Cascade hops, peach, apricot, soapy pine and floral hops. Light-to-medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. A pretty good double IPA. I’d have it again for sure.

Unknown. Pours a cloudy medium dark amber, lots of off white head. Aroma caramel, plums, graham cracker. Body full and light, finish really malty and undefined, wet cardboard. Past its best, which is a shame based on the ratings. Will re-rate with a fresh bottle.

Bottle poured an orange hue w/ a huge frothy beige head. Big sweet caramel aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are caramel, orange, apricot, lemon, and grass. Full bodied, chewy mouthfeel and a light warmth on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle purchased from Kroger in Atlanta. Hazy orange brown colour with medium head. Spicy fruity taste with a distinct citrus/grapefruit peel tone and a hint of caramel. Truly excellent and probably the best ipa i’ve sampled on my US southeast roadtrip.

12oz Bottle. The pour was a murky brownish orange with an average (1-2 finger) light tan frothy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a moderate soapy film with large collar that lasted throughout and had excellent sheets of sticky lacing.

The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, pine hops and a cheesy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee and citrus (orange and lemon).

The taste was lightly acidic and very malty with a decent caramel sweetness from the onset, becoming rather hoppy with a good bold piney presence and a bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted for a very long time proceeding the swallow, with a boldly bitter hoppy taste left behind to linger just a tad longer.

Mouthfeel was a bit below medium in body and dry in texture with a strong medium carbonation.

Overall this was a highly impressive tasting IPA. It possessed a mild malty sweetness that blended perfectly with the bitter piney citrus flavor which did a superb job of concealing the somewhat high ABV, except for a light alcohol warming sensation right at the end... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Kopparfärgad med stort ljusbrunt skum. Doft av tropisk humle och karamellmalt men inte så mycket som jag trodde! Lite trött tyvärr!
