COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Mahogany color, cloudy, moussy head. Aromatics are in general a bit subdued, disappointingly. Lemon and grapefruit pith flavors dominate, as well as apricot. Not as resiny or piney as many other DIPA’s. Nice acidity that enhances a berry-like fruitiness. Some caramel, but it is (rightfully) backgrounded. Medium body without the oiliness that many hoppy beers have. Fairly clean dry finish, with just a touch of bitterness lingering. Alcohol does not stand out, which makes it insidiously easy to drink. Overall a fine IPA, one of the best I’ve tried. What makes it stand out is the tartness that helps round out the flavors.

Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 3/11/2015. Aroma - not a whole lot on the aroma...hints of some tropical fruit and pine, but not nothing dominate. Appearance - Orangish/reddish color to it. Slightly hazy. Taste - for a DIPA, I almost got a black licorice taste to it. I enjoyed it. Palate - Light bodied for DIPA...definitely has a nice after taste to it. Overall - I enjoyed this beer, but missing aroma for me to give it an "A" beer.

Bottle from WOB Ft. Myers. Pours a dark hazy red with a thick creamy head. Aroma is very rich mostly spruce with a bit of toasty malts. Body is light and wet with a bit of carbonation that makes an appearance at the back of the throat. Flavor is initially light which rises to a strong piney hop profile in the middle and fades nicely. The exhale is pretty mild but really highlights the depth of the flavor and makes you want to take another sip.

12 Oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a frothy white head. Aromas of citrusy hops and barnyard yeast. Flavor of piney and floral hops with sweet., honey flavored grain. Finishes with a citrusy hops linger and cloying sugars. Full body with a thick mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, some nice flavors, but aroma is somewhat lacking.

Pours hazy blood-orange. Hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. Overall, an excellent DIPA, greatly balancing its 8.5% ABV with hops and malt.

Bottle poured. Copper color with off white frothy head. Has a nutty malty aroma with citrus hops. Medium body and lightly carbonated. Starts off with a hint of sweetness but finishes very bitter. The bitter after taste sticks around for a long time.

Pours a murky amber with a thick egg shell head that left lacing throughout. There’s a citrus, apricot, and pine aroma. The taste was very well balanced, not too sweet or overly bitter. Flavor’s of citrus, apricot, grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Medium body that was creamy and chewy on the palate. Overall a very satisfying DIPA.
