3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready maltsy tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle picked up at Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Disappointed because this one has a best by date 06-12-15 and I missed it when purchased. Poured into Belgian snifter glass. Deep brandy, reddish orange color with a healthy off-white head. Nose is a little bit malty and caramel-like with a little bit of a pine hop resin undertone. Guessing this one was brighter and hoppier when fresh. Taste has a healthy dose of sweetness with citrus (mango, orange) coming through. Much more malty and bready than anticipated once again probably from the aging of the beer in the bottle. Alcohol is relatively well-hidden. Finish feels a little bit like a pine household cleaner. I’m going to try a fresher one and re-rate this one if applicable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark orange color and topped by a thick layer of off white foam that shows good retention. As the foam settles thick rings of lace coat the glass. The aroma shows note of citrus and pine hops, orange and grapefruit, and a toaster caramel and toffee malt base. The flavor follows with the orange and grapefruit citrus up front to go with the caramel and toffee malts. Citrus and pine hops provide ample bitterness with a hint of resin on the back end. Medium plus body and smooth with ample carbonation that leads to a bitter sweet finish. Solid and well balanced double ipa that doesn’t get overly sweet or bitter and the alcohol is well hidden.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Backlog from lost & found notes: The head on this was massive, it just wouldn’t quit. Hoppay aroma with flowers, grass, citrus and pine up front. Taste is pineapple, resins, mango but also a touch of yeast. Some alcohol in there also. I’m gonna find myself a fresher version and re-rate it, as I believe that there’s something fishy with this one, even if it was more than drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First taste of Double-Wide had an over the top bitterness dominated by Magnum hops. Like the thick pillow of foam, the bitterness ’calmed down’ as I sampled. Strong resiny pine hops dominate. Citrus and caramel flavors were given a backseat. I enjoyed this offering from the ’new’ Boulevard, unsure if what I liked was what they intended beer drinkers to like.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Single bottle from HyVee, Ankeny, IA, March 2015. "Best by 06/12/15." Big grassy hop smell right under the cap. Foamy pour, slightly orange over a fine amber beer body. Unabashedly strong in alcohol, since I pick that up even before the hop load. And then there are the hops. Not as strong in any one hop character, but a combination of pine and resin, grassy fresh hop bitterness. I don’t catch all the fruits mentioned in the description, but I don’t have to. Actually has some balance for a Double IPA, and I hope I’m rating this higher than, say, a 90 Minute.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle of a four pack, chunky dark orange with a big foamy white collar. Lots of hops in this double wide with some citrus, got the peach and apricot flavors mostly in the 3rd and 4th beer, but the part that impressed me most was that it has a whirlpool where hops are added. I only wonder if my palate is pedestrian, because I walk around the neighborhood quite a bit (usually drunk).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with rocky, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, caramel, orange peel, treacle-toffee, black-currant and pink grapefruit. Malty, fruity, hoppy taste with caramel, treacle-toffee, black-currant, citrus peel, grapefruit, lychee and a generous resiny/citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made DIPA. Despite it’s strength and bitterness it’s not aggressive, instead it’s very well balanced. Another great beer from Boulevard. Excellent stuff!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Purchased in 12 ounce bottles. Golden amber in color with a strong hop aroma. Not a lot of carbonation. Great head retention though. Good mix of hops and malt. Strong hop taste at first, then the powerful malt comes through, followed by a bitter finish that does not stay around a long time.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From Smokestack Mixed 4 pack
Into Blvd’s included tulip glass.
A: Pours 2 fingers if tan foam. Murky rust color. not transparent at all. Some remnants of head are evident throughout the drink.
S: Pine in a pronounced but easy way. A touch of caramel. Hardly any citrus to me. A tad winey but otherwise, no booze.
T: Piney again and sticky. Malts are subtle but do provide some balance. Some fruit (cherry?) in the end. Alcohol starts to show through.
M: Medium heavy with sticky finish and a good amount of carbonation. Foam sticks to the lips.
O: Not my favorite style, admittedly but I can see the attraction. Very well done DIPA.
