Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Pours a warm, red-orange-tinted medium brown color with a massive, rocky, sand-colored head. A fresh, fruity citrus hop aroma somewhere between orange and grapefruit dominates, but a touch of malty sweetness is also apparent. The flavor is less bright, and is instead driven more by a woodsy, piney blend of hop characteristics, but there is also a good dose of light caramel malts to balance. The medium body is lightened by a fine, active carbonation that may be even a bit too assertive. Overall, though, the rich, resinous, multi-faceted bitterness lingers comfortingly, making this beer an easy one to savor.

Purchased in 12 ounce bottles. Golden amber in color with a strong hop aroma. Not a lot of carbonation. Great head retention though. Good mix of hops and malt. Strong hop taste at first, then the powerful malt comes through, followed by a bitter finish that does not stay around a long time.

From Smokestack Mixed 4 pack Into Blvd’s included tulip glass. A: Pours 2 fingers if tan foam. Murky rust color. not transparent at all. Some remnants of head are evident throughout the drink. S: Pine in a pronounced but easy way. A touch of caramel. Hardly any citrus to me. A tad winey but otherwise, no booze. T: Piney again and sticky. Malts are subtle but do provide some balance. Some fruit (cherry?) in the end. Alcohol starts to show through. M: Medium heavy with sticky finish and a good amount of carbonation. Foam sticks to the lips. O: Not my favorite style, admittedly but I can see the attraction. Very well done DIPA.

Licorice, citrus and peach with some nice caramel smells to back it up. Nicely balanced sweetness from the malt. Peach follows the nose, herbal with a nice oily resin left on your lips. Glad your trailers a double wide, cause I'm moving in! Sad to see this retired for a bit ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a bright, orange color with a thick, white head. Strong, hoppy aroma with a good sense of tart and grapefruit. Thick, hoppy taste with a strong sense of citrus. Chewy. A very, very good double IPA.

Poured into an ipa glass. Deep orange in color with a light khaki head. While swirling the glass about I smell pine, juicy fruits, sweet caramel malt and just a touch of baked bread. Taste is exuberant, with resin, pineapple, green grapes, sweet turbinado sugar and just a touch of hop bite. The malt backbone is really firm which balances the hop profile well. Thuroughly impressed with this one. Well done Boulevard!

Bottle. Wonderful juicy fruity aroma. Caramel taste with some pine notes, peach, booze, fairly sweet with some bitter hints only in the finish. Pretty good.

Bottle shared with Brian at the house. Snifters. Pours a deep amber with haze and solid two finger head. Aroma is pine and slight fruity hoppiness, small amount of dark breads and malts, hint of paper. The taste is very well balanced with the pine, citrus hops and the malty finish. Hint of caramel after the fruity and pine hops hit you first. Moderate mouth and carbonation. Finish is slight bitter. Well done. Would love to try the brett version.
