COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Harvest Dance Wheat Wine is a celebration of John Barleycorn’s cousin wheat, the great staple crop of Middle America. Wheat wines are a somewhat recent stylistic development, akin to barleywines in strength, but brewed with a large portion of wheat malt, which provides a soft mouthfeel to balance the big body of these warming brews. We add a generous helping of Hallertau and Citra hops, and age the beer on both French and American oak, resulting in a beer that opens up with a warming burst of tropical fruit flavors, adding subtle Sauvignon Blanc notes before rounding slowly to a dry, oaky finish. This is a perfect beer for sharing with friends and family as we gather together for the fall and winter holidays. Pairs well with aged cheeses or seasonal squash and pumpkin dishes.

A lightly hazed apricot body sits beneath a durable, tall, tight, frothy-smooth, bone white head creating fingers of lace all around with a thin sheet and solid ring

Aromas and flavors of spicey, grassy, Belgian-esque esters complimenting bright citrusy, floral hops offering a melon component as everything blends into a creamy base with alcoholic accents on the smooth medium body offering lively carbonation, which leads to an abrupt, clean finish with light, grassy melon residuals, soft earthy-citrusy accents as everything fades out

Dark golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is mostly boozy, a little hops. Smooth and easy drinking for the high alcohol content.

"1st Citra hopped wheat wine I’ve ever had. Fruity, with zesty yeast and a firm alcohol backbone. A little on the prickly side, but the flavor and aroma are different in a very good way."

Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with some toffee notes and some residual sugars is enticing. Taste is dominated by caramelized malt with some grainy notes of wheat and some residual sugars with light aftertaste of toffee. Body is about average with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Very flavorful beer but slightly lacking in terms of complexities.

From Chicago trip 2 years back. American strong characteristics with orange hop flavour, still hoppy flavours in the finish, and to some extent in the nose. Very drinkable.

Shared a bottle with some dorks. Aroma is mild with slight oak, toffee, and sweet malt. Pours deep blond with heavy carbonation. Taste is mild with nice grain notes, wheat, caramel, and a mild oak finish. Not very strong tasting but certainly a perfect balance of tastes. It’s the sort of wheat wine you could drink a whole bottle of and not notice the 9.5%. Would try again but would probably be equally underwhelmed.

[Bottle] Light orange in color. Fizzy, but lasting white head. Hazy with suspended floating yeast. Wheat malts, sweet grains and light lemongrass in the nose. Dough, citrus zest, white wine and floral notes in the taste. Yeasty phenols in the finish. There is a lot going on in this one. Tasting notes from 2012.
