Grapefruit esters on first aroma. Very tropical taste. Pineapple perhaps. Warming alcohol taste. Smooth finish and crisp hop bite.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One year old 750 ml bottle, about 3 months past is BB date. Pours clear apircot withe white, bubbly head. On the nose I get lots of peach, tropical fruit and some wheaty bubblegum notes, vanilla some hoppy citrus whiffs that remind me of Tank 7 farmhouse ale. Taste is peachy wheat malt, some astringency on the finish. Bitterness makes it drink a bit like Tripel. Nice beer, unique. Not much oak and the hops have surely faded. Wish I drank it fresh.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
In the continued spirit of pairing beer reviews with music, I wrote my review of Harvest Dance with Bell Witchís "Bails (of Flesh)." A great fit, I think. Band and brewer alike package their goods with reaper imagery, and use the reaper conceptually. Each makes you marvel at how something so heavy can be so enjoyable. Alright, letís venture away from the music comparison for a moment. Harvest Dance has more Belgian influence than Barleywine influence. If you can be okay with that, youíll probably like the tropical fruit flavors, oak-like vinous notes, and surprisingly smooth body. So yes, Harvest Dance is different. Still, Boulevard tries to warn you. Wheat Wine sounds unique from Barleywine - handy for marketing purposes. As it turns it, it is altogether different. For me, thatís a great thing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- Bubblegum, subtle hops, citrus.
A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white foamy head.
T- Bubblegum, pepper, spices.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, soft finish.
O- Definitely unlike any barleywine Iíve ever had, by far. Way more like a tripel for me. Granted this bottle was 2 months past the best by date but I felt like all that really impacted was the tone of the Citra and Hallertau hops. Not a bad beer but for the style and my preference it was as bit of a sad story.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a clear golden orange with a huge white head...decent lacing...light sediment throughout. Aroma has soft stone and citrus fruits and honey...mild booziness. Flavor follows suit and has nice subtle oak, vanilla and underlying orange blossom and apricot...delicious. Mouthfeel is full and silky with a dry earthy/oaky finish that warms.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2015 Poured a frothy, off-white head (Lots of it), clear and golden in color ; strong aroma of wheat/bread; a lot going on in the flavor department, too much for my untrained palate to unravel, but I did get sweet, some sour, and definitely fruity; medium body, fizzy. Interesting beer, and I am glad I tried it, and there may be much in it that is lost on me, and, although this beer was a little too much like champagne for my tastes, EDIT this is something I would consider buying again, because, after tasting it again a few days later, I am impressed at how sweet it is, and how much I like it (although I donít care for the tartness in it). I am upping the rating.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
. The beer pours a slightly hazy golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that evaporates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, citrus and spice. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, citrusy hops, spice and a touch of oak. The finish is fruity with a wheaty malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Has a cloudy light amber color with a compact, off-white head. Fruity aroma with tropical fruits, spices, citrus, pale malt and hay. The flavor mirrors the aroma, is sweet with additional tones of alcohol, honey and fruit in the background. Has a full body, slick mouth feel and a light bitterness. A rich and fruity BW.
