3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Batch # 2010-1
A - Pours a turbid glowing orange with a milky wet head.
S - Dank wheat, mild but pungent hops, citrus peel and sugary fruit, pears, over ripe apricots, clove, white pepper, hints of alcohol. A potent perfume floral scent comes out as it warms.
T - Starts off with lemon citrus. Sugary apricots and various stone fruits, doughy wheat bread resides under the citrus hops. The hops cling to the sides of the tongue and wick away any sweetness, yet the fruit esters stay. Finishes dry with an herbal and almost minty character.
M - Super soft and creamy, heavy side of medium. Flows across the palate nicely.
Very complex. There’s a rawness but it’s weaved together in a delicate way. It’s fruity, raw, mellow, sweet, dry, bitter, and much more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, orangey gold color, with a presentable layer of soft white head foam that remained quite frothy, and a clingy curtain of ribbons & spots as lacing. The nose began with a subtle scent that was a blend of barn and barrel, then light spice, citrus, lemon rind, and soft, grassy wheat. The taste continued the esters, included a light vinous nature, and a silky mouthfeel, as the modest hop & tannins bitterness, and complementary alcohol lingered in tandem to the finish. Nicely balanced complexity.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very very impressive! I can barely even taste the alcohol despite it being almost 10% ABV and a barley wine... Delicious sweet wheat and cereal notes. Hops really balance this one well and add a piney/herbal afternote that isn’t too bitter at all. Very smooth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Old Chicago in Eden Prairie. Deep orange in color with minimal head. Aroma brings to mind a sour...there’s a tartness to it. Taste has a booze quality with a heavy wheat taste coming through as it progresses. Interesting flavor. Wheat wine is definitely accurate. Gets better as it breathes. Spices come forward at the finish. Wheat strong at the end too. I would dance with it again.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A lightly hazed apricot body sits beneath a durable, tall, tight, frothy-smooth, bone white head creating fingers of lace all around with a thin sheet and solid ring
Aromas and flavors of spicey, grassy, Belgian-esque esters complimenting bright citrusy, floral hops offering a melon component as everything blends into a creamy base with alcoholic accents on the smooth medium body offering lively carbonation, which leads to an abrupt, clean finish with light, grassy melon residuals, soft earthy-citrusy accents as everything fades out

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
"1st Citra hopped wheat wine I’ve ever had. Fruity, with zesty yeast and a firm alcohol backbone. A little on the prickly side, but the flavor and aroma are different in a very good way."

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with some toffee notes and some residual sugars is enticing. Taste is dominated by caramelized malt with some grainy notes of wheat and some residual sugars with light aftertaste of toffee. Body is about average with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Very flavorful beer but slightly lacking in terms of complexities.
