3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It poured a reddish/brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of raisin, toffee and plums. The taste was of bread, nutty and fruity. An overall good beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance of this beer is a reddish orange color with a large off-white head and some fine-grain sediment throughout the liquid, and the aroma is reminiscent of sour fruit and yeast. The taste is mildly sour and slightly sweet, and the palate combines a medium body, average carbonation, slick texture, and a long finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Refrigerated corked and capped 75 cl brown bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours translucent dark amber with medium brown/reddish hues and medium fluffy beige head. Aroma is dark candy sugar, medium body, medium carbonation, and nice big bubble lacing. Taste is dark candy sugar spice (mostly cinnamon), a little anise, and some dark fruit. The spices don’t add anything positive from my perspective, I prefer several other dubbels.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear very dark brown color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is somewhat sweet with elements of molasses to it and implies a rather sweet drink. Taste is fairly sweet, but not overly so. Slightly heavy and not overly drinkable, but passable.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
mostly clear copper with an enormous off-white head. seriously enormous. be careful when you pour it. caramelized sugar, stone fruits, raisin, barnyard, spice. very sweet, light bitter. medium body, lively (nearly excessive) carb. honestly I tend to avoid belgian styles because they all seem to be way too carbonated and taste like theyll give me diabetes, but i could manage this one.

Not too subtle sweetness of this delightfully complex Dubbel brings thoughts of Stilton and grape pairing

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
If you’re unfortunate to get the bottom of the bottle, you’ll get a good glass full of yeast sediment that muddies up the beer. Otherwise, the beer is just medium/dark brown in color with a bright white head. My first thought upon smelling this… “steak sauce”. It smells so much like steak sauce that I can’t get it out of my head. Some earthiness, possibly wood, and strong cinnamon and cloves decorate a roasted, sweet, caramel-heavy malt bill. This is just as obvious in the aroma as it is in the flavor. This is a pretty heavily spiced beer, but still soft, and offers a potent experience without a heavy body. The relatively light weight of the beer, combined with the up-front, but still palatable spice presence, makes this pretty drinkable. Some yeast takes over in the finish. Otherwise, this is pretty enjoyable. Sweet, but not too sweet… spiced, but not too spiced.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
aroma is big prunes, brown sugar. copious, mountainous head that refuses to recede. deep burnished ruby body, translucent but shadowed. flavor is pleasantly sweet but not cloying, luscious soft caramel, fluid and unrelenting. ABV buried without a trace besides the quickly warming sensation it provides. some hint of fusely booze plays with the deeply advanced sugars in later samples but remains pleasant. pit fruits - deeply developed apricots brushed with nearly soured balsamic and charred on the grill. wonderous.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared thanks to Tim and Rachel! Pours a hazy copper brown with thin tab bubbly head that doesn’t really stick. Aroma of Belgian yeast, sweet caramel, and dark fruity esters. Taste is mostly the yeast and esters with a hint of smokiness. Not too sweet like most dubbels, solid.
