4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours murky hay with nice white head. Terrific lace. Aroma of Belgian yeast, spice, white grapes, and grass. Incredibly tasty. Lemon zest, yeast, and clove on a perfect wheat malt canvas. Sweet and somewhat tart with a hidden earthy bitterness. Long, sweet, dry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Wonderfully complex and wonderfully balanced. Great beer.

"had a side by side with Deschutes Conflux, thanks to Hannah. This one poured nothing like a wit, darker than Conflux by far, but ironically smelled and tasted more of wit than ipa. iíd say this was 60/40 wit, and Deschutes was 60/40 ipa. the hops were present, but the spices dominated slightly, and the mouthfeel was livelier being bottle conditioned, which probably affected the flavor some too. both good beers, but us 3 prefered the Conflux slightly."

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy gold pour with a tall, pillowy off white head. Aroma is citrus, peppery spice yeast, spicy hops, lemon, stone fruit, wet limestone, a little bubblegum, clove and earthy floral notes. Flavor is lightly sweet cereal up front, then berry heavy tree fruit sweetness, nice sweet grassiness, muted stone fruit, spicy, Styrian Goldings-like hop spiciness, citrus, citrus peel and just a hint of wet limestone funk. Medium body, juicy, slightly chalky entry, medium, blanketing and slightly pleasantly sharp carbonation and off dry, still kinda juicy finish. Really good stuff, sorta like a mix of Orval and a sweet, fruity and citrus hoppy APA.

Theyíre calling this a wheat/wit IPA, but Iím getting a hoppy saison, a good one at that. Orange zest, touch of lemon, grassy, Belgian yeast. grassy hops. Good stuff.

White IPAís are already pretty unique but Boulevard is never content with leaving a good style well enough alone. Not when it comes to the Smokestack Series. Reboot looks just like a Belgian White (itís beautifully heady and effervescent by the way) but has a rather unique aroma of lemongrass, clove, citrusy hops, and slightly funky yeast. Basically, the smell is as complex as it is awesome. The hops are surprisingly subdued in this beer, and Iím surprised to be saying that as a remark rather than a criticism. The flavors of citrus, lemongrass, candy-like wheat malt, clove, and ginger account for most of what you taste. That said, the body is very complex and is liable to change substantially even with a slight variation in temperature. While you donít necessarily get a lot of hop flavor (aside from nice lemon and orange peel citrus notes), you certainly feel their effect with the crisp finish. The lively carbonation helps to cut through this brewís creamy mouthfeel and amplify that brilliant finish. To put it another way, this ale is one hell of a refresher. Reboot may not be your typical IPA (or even White IPA for that matter) but itís too damn tasty to pass up. The gamer-style bottle artwork is badass, too.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A- Cloves, spices, wheat, lemons.
A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Cloves, cinnamon, spices, coriander, wheat, lemons, citrus, slightly bitter.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish.
O- Still wishing White IPA was itís own category. However, Iím not sure this should be an IPA at all. To be this is straight up Belgian White. Lots of spice, especially from the cloves and coriander and very wheat. Almost no bitterness and just an all around damn fine beer. The smokestack series does it yet again.

An odd one for sure...remind me what this is again, a white IPA? Youíre full of shit. This is an odd beer more of a hoppy Belgian Wit.
