COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
How can a style as elegant and refined as pilsner be "amped up" to imperial status? The answer, as Spinal Tap guitarist Nigel Tufnel might say, is simple: you go to eleven. With its classic recipe and impeccable craftsmanship, Reverb Imperial Pilsner echoes our Collaboration No. 1 Imperial Pilsner, produced in 2009 with esteemed Belgian brewmaster Jean-Marie Rock. Like its predecessor, this summer seasonal is a study in delicately balanced contrasts. Up front, Pilsner malt makes a clear yet restrained statement, answered by the steady, harmonious hum of Saaz hops, traces of which linger in the dry, crisp finish. Rock on.

Pours hazy yellow with thin white head with some lacing. Aroma is citrusy with some hops and slight phenol. Some malt and citrus taste with mild hoppy grass that is full. Moderate body with good carb and somewhat dry finish. Really liked, good all around drinking beer but a little high in ABV for session beer. Bought at Hyvee and consumed at Vernon's poker night 9/8/12. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours slightly cloudy yellow with a thick, clumpy white head. Nose is a little sweetish malt and an unpleasant astringent note. Mild bitterness in the flavor and alcohol. Made my head pound. I didn’t like this much.

Draught. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a moderate white head. Nose and taste are both a little sweet with a hint of that skunky note that so many in the lager style have. Very flavorful, but I’m not a huge fan of it.

Great pilsner but nothing spectacular which is what I’ve came to expect from the boulevard smokestack series.

Tasty lager. Nice yeasty and malt aroma. Almost grassy. Clear golden color with white foamy head. This is a true pilsner with some punch. The flavors seemed amped up. Same standard pilsner taste but with more German malts. Crisp with a nice amount of hops presence. Not dry but clean and well balanced.

Draft at Grumpy’s NE. No aroma to speak of. Pale yellow with virtually no head or lace nor visible carbonation. Very good imp pils though I’ve had two others better.

Very nice texture and sweet flavors. Sweet and boozy with Not much bitterness, which puts it a little close to the malt liquor zone. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Pilsner. From draft. Not sure the ratings are good on this. I think it tastes like cat pee. Don't like it at all

bottle. Aroma is modest but pleasant, as should be for a pils, with notes of light hops and corn malt. Flavor is rich but clean, notes of white cake, lightly bittered hops. Palate is medium, still retains a light feel but you can still its an imp, crisp and smooth. Overall another great beer from the smokestack series, liked it a lot.
