3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a medium amber with an off-white head and lacing. It has an aroma of raisin, plum, and some spice. The flavor is light malt and dark fruit up front with a slightly spicy finish over a smooth, medium-heavy body.

Hazy toffee colored pour. Slight off white head. Little lacing. Big malty aroma. Some dark fruit notes. A slight husk note. Taste is a rich malt with the huskiness appearing again. Slight warming sensation.

Batch 2010-1 (05/2011)
4/13/2011: Boulevard See You Later Doppelbock (Aged on Cedar)... Aroma: Subary floral, caramel; subtle cedar definitely comes through. Appearance: Ruby color with a frothy ivory-colored head. Flavor: Malty toffee; slightly nutty; peasantly sweet; cedar shows up and helps supress the sweetness and malt. Palate: Medium-bodied; calm and smooth. Overall: Interesting combination of Doppelbock and cedar that works well together!

Copper, cloudy, thin head. Aroma of bready malt, toffee, raisins, light fruitiness. Flavor similar to aroma, with some leathery notes, some woody resiny cedar evident, again a little fruitiness. Body is medium, not really full, slightly warming.

750ml Bottle; Marked 2-2009 8/10 - I have to say I was a little concerned about the age on this one, but mostly.. though I had low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. This one pours dark brown . amber, with a fine bubbled, fairly nice khaki head in this dimpled mug. It retains better than expected, to be certain. Cedar aging, perhaps - but the nose comes across more like maple.. with some nice dark malts (caramel, syrup, toffee) , and some really light fruit esters as well - The flavor profile is definitely more muted at this point - and while the aforementioned aromas come through - more dark malts, fruit esters... the cedar aging is ever present.. and the finish is a little mediocre. Interesting... not my fav.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2010 pours dark copper with a little khaki head. Nose is big with some booze dark fruit and grain. The taste is also big with the alc prominent and a fight between the grain and the spicey piney cedar. The hops are light but make the brew nice with a bit of dry balance. There is an earthy quality to it and a familiar German doppelbock taste if you look for it. The palate is creamy and pretty smooth, this is very enjoyable, I hope boulevard decides to make this again.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not much to write about this now retired beer other than for me and my fiance we both agreed that this was a one trick pony. All you can taste from this beer is the wood used to age the beer. Nothing more, nothing less and the taste itself is even small. It was like I was drinking an empty beer. Now maybe I got a bad bottle. Looking at reviews people are picking up different things here but we both agreed we couldn’t at all.

750ml bottle 1/13/10 (RSRIZZO’s Gathering)-Pours a cloudy amber with no head. Aroma of sweetness, caramel, and dried fruit. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew was rather tasty for a style I don’t care for.
