Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

250 ml. draft @ Gollem. Now that Moortgat owns Boulevard they are apparently to start selling their beers in Belgium which is an interesting & pleasant surprise. It is also a bit odd since they never did this with Ommegang & they have no intention of doing so. Surprisingly pale golden, creamy white head. Served way too cold. Nose, cold, lightly metallic, sweet, sugary, light sweetish citrus hop, faint grass,Ö. Taste is lots of sweetness, sugar, white sugar, light grass, coriander, too cold, overly white sugar sweet for me & rather bland, faint almost corn sweetness, light lemon,Ö Too sweet & cold to easily drink. Surprisingly bland, I do not understand the very high score. Okay but lacks all excitement for me. There is nothing farmhouse here for me. Maybe this is better in a bottle with some conditioning.

Bottle poured a dark golden color with a thick two finger head that retained well. Aroma has grains, wet hops, Belgian yeast, citrus touches, and some farmhouse edges. Mouth feel is medium with good carbonation. Flavor has lots of farmhouse, bright hops, Belgian yeast, and lingers on the tongue.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance: The body has a light orange amber color with a hazy yeast presence. Itís topped off with a soft soapy head which slowly settles down to thin creamy covering. Lacing is mostly slick and slides down the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma has nice notes of lemon grass, wet hay/barnyard, sour dough bread, grassy hops and a touch of orange peel. Taste / Palate: The flavor perfectly matches the aroma. The balance is spot on and it has a light hop finish. The feel is lively and weíll carbonated.

A great saison, multi layered aromas Belgian yeasts and pineapple , itís one of those beers I could sniff for ages. A very balanced flavour, more pineapple and grapefruit, but a good peppery saison finish. Hides its abv well.

Smells like green acorns in a wet area.glowing cloudy orange with a huge frothy lasting head. Cold tart and crisp entering your mouth. A smooth warming spice generates as it swirls in your mouth. Refreshing yet still a slight grassy dryness as it fades.
