Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Sweet lemon bread aroma. Light hazy orange and yellow body with a massive foamy head. Mild bitterness at first then sweet lemon. Bready malt feel and taste. Very bubbly carbonation. Head stays strong. Dry tart finish.

Blond, straw, lemon appearance. Huge fluffy white head. This smells really good. Huge citrus spice nose. Cloudy with lots of carbonation. A little thin on the mouthfeel. Very nice taste, sophisticated Orange and Belgian spice. Would definitely drink again.

Pours a murky golden yellow with a large and frothy white head which remains for a while. Aroma is coriander, wheat and banana. Taste is coriander, banana, pepper all of which are then followed by notes of sweet fruit - mango, orange, mandarin. Finish is dry and peppery.

12oz bottle (best by 9/23/215) - spicy, pepper and wheat nose. Sweeter than I would expect this style to be. Great palate but a little strange in the finish. Funky like Ommegang (Moortgat connection I guess).

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Tornado-like carbonation. Thick lacing. Aroma of salt, tiger bread and lime. Flavour of minerals, bitter lemon, sugar and straw. Medium body with an oily texture. Lively fizz. A dry, lemony ale.

Amber, slightly cloudy with a foamy white head. Nose has citrus, orange and grapefruit nestled with the expected Belgian yeast. Taste has dough, pepper and spice, including coriander. Medium body, quite well carbonated. Dry finish. Doesn’t quite work for me - I like saisons with a cleaner middle and a sharper bitter finish.

Flavor of yeast, citrus and light fruitiness. Okay bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the upper part of the mouth to a weak moment. Cleft to this beer. Good but still not bad. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrusy with fruity and spicy notes. Hoppy and citrus up front, fruity, spicy and tropical flavors in the finish. Enjoyable.

Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale drinks well when you find it for markdown @_$6/01 at Farm Fresh....man it is good on a Virginia spring day, after work, on the ratio!
