Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Lichtgeel bier. Ben niet zo’n liefhebber van saison, maar dit is goed te pruimen. Fris, moutig, citrus, cookie. Een smaakvolle saison, met een typisch moutige Belgische smaak.

Well this was a truly exceptional and unique brew, which successfully combined elements of both an IPA and a Belgian saison. On draft from a freshly tapped keg, this poured a hazy wheaty golden color, with an aroma of west coast hops and yeast. Taste is very complex and also well balanced, with an initial sweetness of Belgian yeast, followed by fruity hops, mostly grapefruit, and also with a subtle bready maltiness throughout. Relatively light on the palate, fresh and not musty as some other farmhouse style ales. Finishes clean, and the hefty ABV surprises you. Definitely a distinctive beer worth trying!

Bottle. Clear yellow gold, ample white head. Hay, light coriander spiciness, minimal citrus fruitiness. Light bitterness, strongish malt finish. Chewy, some light oiliness, medium body, alcohol is somewhat upfront. Longish finish. Quite good.

Blonde doree, carbo moyenne, collet epais de grosses bulles, persistant. Aromes tres levure, citronne, epices. Tres bel equilibre en bouche, les epices ressortent bien en finale. Longueur agreable.

Keg at Purecraft, Birmingham. Really good beer. Seemed to have something for everyone - gentle funk, hazy wheat, tickling, well chosen hops. Tangy, refreshing, interesting.

wow this was pretty ridiculous. Really heady and cloudy. taste is yeast, bubblegum, banana and pepper... but in a crisp sort of way. Enjoyable and earthy.

Nice golden pour with dense large white head. Yeasty smell with spices, same for the flavour, medium bodied golden ale, the spiciness reminds me of a tripel, really rich long aftertaste. Delicious!

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Meaty, lightly funky veg aroma. Medium body, medium carb. Light medicinal stuff, cherry, lemon, white pepper... OK, not really my thing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle in a 6-pack from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy deep golden with a frothy white head. Aroma: Pungent citrus, playful fruitiness, spicy, boozy, tropical fruits, phenolic...in a good way, quite nice. Palate: Medium+ body, full, rounded carbonation. Flav.: Quite similar to the nose with lots of fruits and citrus, fairly spicy and a bit boozy; somewhat sweet with decent bitterness and a lovely, fruity finish.

Body is vol.
