Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

The aroma is full of fresh banana and citrus. Well carbonated and the alcohol volume is present in the taste, in an amusing and refreshing way. Yeasty. Very good. The banana taste confuses me a bit, but that only intrigues me.

Bottle at home. Cloudy yellow colour, big white foamy head that nicely laces the ale. Citrusy nose, spicy yeasts, lightly funky, grainy malts. Good body, lively carbonation.

Watching the World Series with KC against the NYM, so fitting beer. Golden colour, hazed by tiny particles. Fluffy big white head, great retention and foamy patches of lacing. Beautiful aromas of Belgian Ale yeast, citrus notes and a little grass. Lots of the same for the flavours. The grassy hop are nice in the finish. Alcohol well=hidden, so refreshing Saison with good citrus and pretty hoppy overall. Beautiful !

Bomber brought by Paul to my going away bottle share. Pours a clear, greenish yellow, with a big, frothy, white head and tons of lacing. The nose is lemon peels, coriander, grains, and oranges. Sweet and grainy flavor, with a light bitterness. Light body, acerbic, effervescent, and crisp. This is a nice, solid saison.

Bottle @home. It pours golden with a thick white head which lasted almost to the bottom of the glass.. Hay on the nose with some spice and it also smells very fruity. Orange in the mouth with a cake like edge, lemon zest, drinks so well and does not taste like an 8% beer.
