Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Just a dang good saison. Citrusy, slightly funky, a tad bit of hop bite. I think I can smell banana and some sort of spice. Slight alcohol taste‚Ķ but itís actually complimentary. Donít pass this one up‚Ķ I sure donít. Always get a 750ml bottle once a month. A go to saison! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, thanks to jleblanc! Hazy and quite pale yellow pour with frothy white head. Aroma is very peppery, lots of lemon peel, citrus, slightly yeasty, grain and fresh spicy hops. It smells super fresh and crisp, really inviting. Taste is of fresh grain, saison yeast spiciness, decent bitter hop finish, very enticing. The palate is a tad on the sweet side for a saison, but not much really. Good strong carbonation makes this beer really enjoyable. Although recognizably american in style in comparison to itís belgian counterparts, this saison is amongst the best I have had so far - truly delicious and now a permanent want.

Bitter in all the right ways, this fresh and complex Belgian style saison is really tasty. And oh the Amarillo hops.....excellent.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with quarter inch white head that recedes to thin white head that retains. Aroma is spice, orange, and slight funk. Flavor is the same with a long finish. Delicious.

Date: December 20, 2011 Mode: Draft Source: Valley Tap House Description: Semi-opaque cloudy yellow with some head and nice lacing. Fruity/citrus aroma with the farmhouse funk. Taste was similar to aroma and belgian yeast. A little thin though.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 Pours a hazy gold. Fizzy white head almosy an ipa aroma, aroma of citrus, grapefruit, smells like a fresh band aid too. Flavor very hoppy grass and straw. Grapefruit. Sweet up front and a sour bitter at finish Avg body dry finish like a saison should be . Strong alcohol on the finish. Ovverall an awesome beer and a terrific saison style . My brother needs to shave he is a slob.

Loved it. Went in expecting very little and was shocked by the result. Really dry flavorful saison with notes of citrus fruit and spices. What an easy to obtain great saison reminiscent of Helios by victory. You dont have to spend 12 dollars a bottle to get a great one.

Pours cloudy with modest head and good lacing. Smells a little funky (as it should) and maybe even sweet. Taste is smooth, maybe a little citrus, and true to the style. Carbonation is good, feels good in the mouth and finishes well. This a great beer that I will definitely enjoy again.
