COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a big pillowy white head and really nice lacing. Aroma is clove, coriander, some lemon, and wheat. Taste its the same spice with citrus and banana. Nice bitterness. Very lively on the palate. Really enjoyable.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with big fluffy white head. Smell is lemon citrus with citrus hops and rich rich grain and yeast. Taste is citrus zest, light spice, clove, pepper and yeast. This is really light and so good. Even though a bit lighter than I am used to, it is still a fantastic brew.

So many wonderful tasting notes come together to make this Boulevardís best year round beer. I especially love the Lilí Smokies 12 oz 4 packs, so I donít have to drink a full 750 mL bottle every time I crack one open. Though when beer tastes like this, I wonít complain.

Forget the usual descriptions - think of the best light Belgian Farmhouse Ale youíve ever had (even contenders like Saison Dupont), add a little American hop bitterness, and you have this exquisite brew. Golden straw color, large fluffy head mounds of clean white lace, odors of light soicy wheat, an altogether fine Ale. Iíve only got one bottle - where can I get more?

Pous a disappointingly pale yellow. Taste is sweet that goes into a nice crisp hoppy finish. Very soid brew.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with about a finger of white head. Aroma of grapes, citrus fruit and a little farmhouse funk. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Farmhouse funk, Belgian sugar and a lot more citrus hops than I was expecting. Medium-full bodied with a thick yet slick texture. Fizzy carbonation and a long citrus hop finish. Overall, very good. A lot more different than I was expecting, but very good. I wish I would have got the 750ml bottle instead of the 12oz.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2012 Tasted on tap and from bottle within two days, tasted identical. It poured a cloudy, light golden color with fluffy white foam, long-lasting with excellent Belgian lace. Stronger American hops aromatics than a "true" Saison, but very nice. There are nonetheless distinct Belgian yeast characteristics: fruity esters and pepper/clove phenols. Complex grainbill flavors: mild malts, some toast, wheat?, a little caramel, and lots more fruity and spicy Belgian-ness. Light-medium body, no trace of the high alcohol percentage, high carbonation, slightly metallic/Champagne-like bite, crisp and refreshing finish. Multi-layered and delicious.
