Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with about a finger of white head. Aroma of grapes, citrus fruit and a little farmhouse funk. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Farmhouse funk, Belgian sugar and a lot more citrus hops than I was expecting. Medium-full bodied with a thick yet slick texture. Fizzy carbonation and a long citrus hop finish. Overall, very good. A lot more different than I was expecting, but very good. I wish I would have got the 750ml bottle instead of the 12oz.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2012 Tasted on tap and from bottle within two days, tasted identical. It poured a cloudy, light golden color with fluffy white foam, long-lasting with excellent Belgian lace. Stronger American hops aromatics than a "true" Saison, but very nice. There are nonetheless distinct Belgian yeast characteristics: fruity esters and pepper/clove phenols. Complex grainbill flavors: mild malts, some toast, wheat?, a little caramel, and lots more fruity and spicy Belgian-ness. Light-medium body, no trace of the high alcohol percentage, high carbonation, slightly metallic/Champagne-like bite, crisp and refreshing finish. Multi-layered and delicious.

Hazy straw yellow in color with a big íol foamity foam foam. Yeasty, peppery and tad citrus like. A very well made saison but for some reason, the more I drink it, the less appealing it is to me.

Pours a nice stray colored yellow. Notes are spicy with peppery, citrus, hay, and earth notes. Taste is of spices, nicely toned bitter hopes for a little kick, wheat and alcohol notes. Nice solid beer.

750 ml bottle. Purchased at Table and Vine. West Springfield, MA. Cloudy golden color in the snifter. Steady carbonation. Nose is tons of barnyard and hay. Taste is light fruit, yeast, grass and just a little hop kick in the end. Very simple and straight forward. They hit the mark with this one. I have enjoyed every beer from this brewery and I am inspired to try more. At $9.99 a bottle itís a good buy.

Just a dang good saison. Citrusy, slightly funky, a tad bit of hop bite. I think I can smell banana and some sort of spice. Slight alcohol taste‚Ķ but itís actually complimentary. Donít pass this one up‚Ķ I sure donít. Always get a 750ml bottle once a month. A go to saison! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, thanks to jleblanc! Hazy and quite pale yellow pour with frothy white head. Aroma is very peppery, lots of lemon peel, citrus, slightly yeasty, grain and fresh spicy hops. It smells super fresh and crisp, really inviting. Taste is of fresh grain, saison yeast spiciness, decent bitter hop finish, very enticing. The palate is a tad on the sweet side for a saison, but not much really. Good strong carbonation makes this beer really enjoyable. Although recognizably american in style in comparison to itís belgian counterparts, this saison is amongst the best I have had so far - truly delicious and now a permanent want.
