Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Lovely hints of bubble gum. Love the yeast profile. Straw colored beer with nice thick head that doesnít disappear quickly. Great warm taste, fit the sasion profile but come through very smooth and not harsh/hot like most saisions. Try it if you see it people.

Straight out of the bottle with a couple slices of pizza at the local Earthfare market. Single out of the beer cooler was pretty close to the right temp to drink this style, and it was great. Crisp and dry yeasty taste with a hint of spice, maybe coriander. Now I need to go buy one and put in the proper glass to see what it looks like. Hard to find good American made Belgian styles that arenít too sweet, so this is a home run for my palate.

750ml bottle. Aroma: heavy malt, bread, caramel, light hop, heavy yeast, alcohol. Appearance: large off-white head, excellent lacing, cloudy yellow. Taste: short duration, heavily sweet, moderately acidic. Palate: medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, maybe a slightly chalky finish. Love this beer! Great for style and overall too.

750 into HF stemware. Pours a clear golden orange. Smell is peppery, banana esters, grain, and yeast. Taste is citrus, banana, malt, and butterscotch. Good carb, dry finish. Think this is way past its prime unfortunately.

Best by 25NOV12 Pours clear golden with a persistent 2-3 fingers of loose, white foam. Leaves gobs of lace. Smells like a classic Saison, sweet grain with clay, malts, plenty of yeast character, a bit of lemon and hay. Middle of the road nose. Tastes like itís got some band aids in it, a good light malt backbone with some seltzer notes, a good amount of early bitterness, some metallic hints and a little vinous overtures. Medium bodied with tight, sharp and excessive carb. A thick, wet finish. Not a bad beer, but nothing Iím inclined to appraise or seek out. A great intro to the middle of the road for an interested party. Serving type: bottle 11-26-2012

Big fluffy head out of bottle pour. Smells sweet, bready. Taste is strong grapefruit with the grapefruit bitterness aftertaste. Fairly good, better as it warmed in the glass.

Very balanced, though not without a yeasty funk you won't forget. Crisp but unfiltered, reviving but not gentle. An amazing beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mmm. Good beer. Had to give it a high appearance mark on the head alone. ..frothy and long-lasting. Nice light-golden color. Strong grapefruit aroma, tastes fruity and floral, doesnít taste like a 8% abv.
