COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

On tap at Maxís in Baltimore. Hazy muddy yellow pour with a white head. aroma is spicy yeast and some good citrus hop notes. Flavor is spicy, citrusy and pretty clean. Mouthfeel is a bit watery and there were some interesting odd flavors in there. Good beer.

Poured out of bottle into a wide flute beer glass. Lots of bubbles on the initial pour, quickly dissipating head with just the edge of the glass graced by the lace. Bright orange color, opaque. Smell: Floral hops and citrus.. mostly grapefruit. Pleasant and mellow. Taste: No real flavors coming through, though still very nice... maybe a little orange. The bitterness coming into play at the end, which is good. Soft texture, not quite creamy though. While not a powerhouse, it is very nice to drink. For me it fits both a summer and winter drink. Itís simple taste makes it refreshing for hot days, but the softness also makes it appealing to a cold night in front of the fireplace.

Hazy yellow/orange appearance. Aroma is of belgium yeast/fruit including banana. Flavor is exactly what a saison should be. Nice and fruity with some barnyard funk. Bitterness allows the malt characters to shine. Very well balanced. Finishes dry.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2012 Pours hazy amber with a nice thick frothy white head. Aroma and flavour: amazing! Strong notes of citrus, along with tropical fruits (mango), belgian yeast, and maybe slight spices. Very refrshing beer, highly drinkable. A saison can hardly get any better than this one!

Bottle. Very white pillowy white head with great retention on a hazy bright yellow orange. Earthy, light mineral hops, spices and vanilla in the aroma. Slightly sweet, some gum, vanilla, spice and a fairly dry finish. Lighter fluffy body with vibrant carbonation.

tough beer to judge because it is delicious yet seems to be missing certain season characteristics. aroma is top notch, yeasty a little funk and some deep fruit.notes. the weird thing is the fruit notes remind me of apples and pears over the more traditional citrus notes. taste is very pleasant yeasty but very sweet. the usually tartness of the style is mia. slight peppery bite at the end. great beer...just missing a little tartness or bite

7/12/12 Poured into tulip immediately after work. Pours a cloudy gold with excellent thick head which slowly settles to a finger, and nice lacing. Spicey, refreshing hops on the nose. Taste is beautifully refreshing hoppiness but with less of the spice I was expecting in the taste. The finish is dry and refreshing, but again, there isnít any of the funk or the zing I was expecting? Itís a very tasty beer, but leaves a little to be desired, particularly in this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy yellow gold with a huge foamy white head with great retention. A mild saison smell. Taste is also muted from what I like in the style, but still very good. A quality brew.

Poured a lightly hazy bright yellow with lots of carbonation bubbles rising uip in the glass. There was a tall foamy white head that became creamy on top. There was a good amount of thick clingy lacing. There was a grapefruit aroma and other citrus scents as well. There is a good hops flavor upfront, predominately grapefruit, along with a nice hops bitterness. The bitterness lasts well and mellows somewhat with the bisquit malt flavor that balances it. There is a good bit of carbonation here too. I wouldnít say this is a farmhouse ale , but more like a good IPA that has a good amount of malt balance to smooth out the hops. I did enjoy the beer never the less.
