COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Had on-tap at Palmer Place. Poured into a tulip glass. A: Pours a wonderful cloudy gold color with a nice 1 finger off-white head leaving a great smooth lace. S: Floral hops with a nice yeasty backbone. Fruits are prevalent at the back but there is some searching there. T: Nice wheat upfront with a sweet apple middle. A mild tartness follows with a nice dry, bitter hop finish. M: very crisp and light bodied. Incredibly smooth leaving a great dry finish with a slight bitterness on the back end. O: This was my first saison and I was very impressed. The different flavor profiles all compliment each other nicely and leaves you wanting a little more to replenish the dry finish. UPDATED: NOV 8, 2012 Sampled twice @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours hazy golden with a big frothy white head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity, spicy and funky with crackers, dry soil, green grapes, plums, barnyard, lemon hard candy, white pepper, cloves and subtle hints of alcohol. Taste is tiny sweet, spicy and slightly funky with crackers, dry soil, lemon zest, orange zest, white pepper, cloves, hay, peaches, pineapple and hints of leather and barnyard. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny tart, very tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter, dry and tiny tart with crackers, white pepper, cloves, allspice, tangerines and hints of oatmeal cookies.

On draft at my house, courtesy of Stateline liquors. Pour is a hazy straw with a thin white colored head. The latter is perhaps the least impressive part of this beer. The aroma is floral, spicey, and sweet. The flavor follows, phenolic elements tempered (slight pepper) with a definite hop presence, citrus notes, slight funk, yeast. , some spicing. Body is full to moderate, light carbonation, especially for the style.

12oz and 750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a thin wisp of white head that recedes quickly. The aroma is citrus and pine hops and fruity yeasts with notes of plum, pineapple, pear, cinnamon, and coriander. A hit of piny hops start the taste and then subside to a fruity yeast character, that is subdued. The finish is mildly dry and tart. Medium body with a nice dry finish, medium carbonation. Very refreshing.

Hazy gold with a pillowy white head. Aroma is lemony, zest, light sweetness, and a bit of yeast. Very inviting. Medium to full body. Flavor isn’t as lemon forward as the aroma suggests. Citrus, floral, light biscuit, sweet malts, tropical citrus, and light candied sugar. Top-notch brew.
