3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2012 Yeah, this is a girlie brew. If it weren’t for the 8%, it would get a lower score. Too flowery, but a decent white vibe.

Bottle at a tasting. Thanks beerandbeyond. Hazy deep golden with a lovely white head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops and some earthiness. Fresh hoppy flavor with flowers, citrus (lemon, pomelo), some yeast and a bit of malt. Medium-bodied. Great refreshing stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
6/11/11. One of the smaller bottles from a 4-pack. Slightly hazy orange pour with a big off-white head that fades fast. Dry Belgian aroma with minerals, leafy herbs, and light yeast. Sweet sugary flavor with lingering minerals and herbal aspects. Not bad.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: clear gold and straw with hints of orange. Suspended specs of yeast. Airy bubbly white head. Lace clumps and sticks everywhere. Head looks like a bubbly white slice of bread. Swirls nice, releasing a massive nose.
Nose: little bit of funk up front – horse blanket, dry old bales of hay. Turned lemons – lemon and funk melded as one. Golden leather and lemon oil, shammy. Wildflowers blooming on a hot summer breeze; dandelion and sunflowers. Kiwi and papaya.
Palate: yum! Soured lemon skin, horse blanket, leather, dry bales of hay. Touch sticky along the sides. Immediately dries top middle of tongue. Spice with caraway coming to mind. Wildflowers, pollen, and green flower stems. Grabs back of tastebuds with papaya and kiwi, lots of kiwi. Each quaff reveals layers of flavor both separate and seamless. White peppercorns. Faint horse and hay dust in the breath.
Final Thoughts: yum and yum! I love me some farmhouse funk. Another winner from the Smokestack Series from Boulevard Brewing. Thanks to the sis for providing me with yet another delicious beer experience.

numerous samples over the years on tap and bottles. I love this beer! many great memories in st louis drinking a ton of this at various festivals and gatherings. hazy particulate orange with a fluffy white head-soapy. floral nose huge flowers, lite spice, citric hops, lite fruits. awesome! flavors are spicy with quite a bit of hops, espeically when fresh on tap. the 8% is not even detected anywhere-i can session the hell out of this beer and have! very hopppy for a saison which was what the brewery was going with this. very tasty and wish i could get access of this on a regular basis. I WILL bring some home soon!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2011 750 ml. bottle corked n’ caged bottled on 2/17/11- Pours cloudy golden with half the glass foam which reduces to a ice cream float rocky head. The aroma is a little funk, orange zest, coriander or clove, . The flavor is similar to a wit actually, little to no brett, orange, wheat, a little hops, dry. The body is a little thinner than I would like it to be, carbonation is high. I was let down by this one, was expecting a funky beer with massive complexities, but instead It is kind of one note, a wit bier with a dry hoppiness to it. 12/30/11 Re Rate- Basically the taste deserves better than a 7, so upping that by one point, and the overall a 15, come on, it deserves much better than that, upping by two, the palate, it deserves one point higher as well. Original score was 3.7.
