COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Hazy golden body with a fluffy white head. The nose shows Provençal herbs with some citrus fruit. Medium bodied with a healthy tension between Saison yeast and some rustic hops. Nimble on the palate and fresh and clean on the finish

Bottle from GBBF 2012. Pale gold some haze and lasting white head. Sherberty hoppy aroma. Yes a little bit of funk also. Is this too hoppy to be a saison? To be a balanced beer? I mean I like it. I really like it. Full in the mouth. Just a lovely beer really. Maybe just a bit too sherbert hop to make it a bottle after bottle beer. Good though.

Pours a beautiful deep coors light gold. Aroma is moderate to spice, some ginger, farm-like maltiness. Flavor is crisp and clean with good spice in the front and background. Grassy notes also. Great medium body. Very nice overall.

Pours a pale gold with a thick lacy head. Aroma of hops, sweet malts and more hops. Taste follows, really hoppy, a bit sweet pepper is present. Full bodied and very complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I am not a fan of this type of brew. That being said this is a nice aromatic floral beer, lots of flavor and very perfumed. It is stronger on the bitter side, which is strange considering that this beer is so fruity. It held a good head, and I am not sure what the IBU rating was but this one was rather interesting in how close it tasted to an IPA.

Pours a light, crisp hay with a very slight head. Aroma is spicy and citrusy like an IPA from but with the malt and yeast balance of a belgian. Taste is citrus up front with grapefruit, spice, and biscuity yeast. Very crisp and refreshing without a hint of the higher level ABV.

750 cc from State Line. Pours turbid canary with 3-finger clingy white head that laces well. Nose is dry, spicy, with floral hops, yeasty malt, and fruit. Tastes dry, very floral up front, with mid-palate hops, fruit, and yeasty malt. Very complex and easy to drink, this one is stellar.

Appearance: lightly hazed straw with a huge and fluffy white head that left tons of lace. Aroma: mmm…citrus, yeast, funk, rice, passion fruit, kiwi. Taste: citrus and light, crackery funk up front, over a solid bed of yeasty spices. Finish: all that delicious front slowly fades to a light, tingly bitterness. Notes: Great saison. Creamy/light mouth, and you’d never know it was an 8% abv. Absolutely great.
