Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Cloudy golden yellow. Thin but thick head that lasts. Pleasant malty, yeasty nose. Crisp malt and bread dough taste with a dry lingering finish.

12oz into a stemmed boulevard glass. Pours a medium pale yellow with golden splashes of lemon. Head is thin yet stretches the whole glass area. Aroma is nicely hoppy, musty at times, then corn, pepper, the belgain fruit sensation, and danity grapefruit, fresh from a tree mostly. Goes down with belgian and ipa qualities and then also omits a pale ale likeness. the combination is just right with me. Aftertaste is hoppy, earthy and satisfying. Excellent.

Itís a bit boozy on the nose but also has sweet-straw notes with some fruity aromas. It pours cloudy golden with frothy white head. There is definitely a surge of flavor at the front and it lingers with a bitter kick. Aromas of tart-citrus, slight barnyard, and booze play together well on the palette.

One of the best saisons that doesnít have the word "dupont" in the name. Dry, yeasty, farmhouse ale. Pours cloudy yellow with large white head. Itís very dry, slightly bitter, super dry finish. Palate is slight funk, yeasty, dries out your tongue, but in a good way. Very good beer.

Serving type: bottle A- Pours a burnt hazy orange brown. Gigantic foamy head on this one. A island of murky froth forms on top and stays around. Lots of carbonation. S - Wow! Beautiful aroma! Sour bananas, huge sour hay bouquet, funky barn yeast. Phenols come through as it warms. Classic Saison!! I could make a cologne out of this! T - Different than the nose. Caramely hops up front then transforms into a tangy honey hay. Tart honey. The barn yard flavor comes through as it warms. This beer needs to set and warm for full flavor. Bold hops throughout, from top to bottom. The citrusy hops sticks to the side and back of the tongue. Medium body for the style. Might be slightly watered down, but pretty close to the style. The complexity of this style breeds different characteristics. The nose on this one is nothing short of a masterpiece. Although I love the hops on the palette, it seems to distinguish other flavors that are begging to come through. Boulevard is really making quality beers. I tend to disregard Boulevard, but they are really going out on a limb and making quality beers. I tip my hat to this one. If youíre a Farmhouse person this beer is a treat, especially on the nose. .

On tap. More fruity than funky in both aroma and taste. Funk is there but takes a back seat. Creamy body, nice carb level. A fundamentally different style of saison than its sibling Saison-Brett, and more sessionable to boot. Love them both.

On tap. Lightly hazy golden-amber with a creamy coating of bubbles. Nose is spicy caramel, brett, light toast and citrus. Taste is brett, grape must, light apple, caramel, zesty citrus, and toast. Touches of white wine and resin on the finish. Light-medium body has medium-high carbonation, finishes well to the dry side, and shows just a touch of the abv.

From the bottle, hazy yellow pour with a little lemon peel and light citrus flavor. There is a little funk and a slight spice bite finish, petty damn good.
