COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Pours a hazy straw-like golden color with huge frothy white head. Carbonation is champagne-like with lots of bubbles rapidly rising to the surface throughout the entire glass and very impressive lacing all the way down to the last sip. Aroma is fruity, spices, clove, and bubblegum. Taste is very dry with citrus, spices, and earthy hops. Long, dry bitter finish. Overall, this is a very good farmhouse ale.

A hazy yellow pour with a rocky, white head. The aroma is a nice grapefruit with slight cloves and floral hops. The light body has a slightly oily texture with lively carbonation. The taste is tart and spicy with a long, dry, bitter finish.

Tap at Euclid Bar and Kitchen in Denver. Pours a hazy blonde-orange with a lively lace of fluffy white espresso foam on top. Aromas are solid of hay and orange peel zest. Excellent spicy quality in the nose as well. Taste matches nose, if a bit cleaner. Citrus notes hold up well in the face of the farmhouse funk and high ish ABV. Excellent brew on draft.

Murky goldenrod with large slowly fading airy eggshell crown. Aroma is grassy and spicy with mild funk, yeast and a touch of citrus. Taste is grassy with sweet malt, light fruit, hay, yeast, citrus and a bit of black pepper. Sudsy and decent.

A solid and interesting beer that I would buy again. Pours a light golden yellow with a big foamy head that laces nicely. Nose and taste are of Lemon, citric hops, hay, grass, the way a hay farm smells after it rains in the fall. Dry crisp and refreshing with a touch of sweetness on the finish.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2012 Straw, grass, and citrus in the aroma. Flavor starts out with a lot of light fruit, but finishes with a nice hop bitterness and a nice mouthfeel. It’s almost like a cross between a Belgian saison and an IPA, but it works.
