COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Bottle @ Beder Grillsmagning. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, pepper, spices, malt and hops. Nice and fruity.

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget (40:-). Ljusgul med vitt skum. Söt, syrlig, kryddig, jäst, hö, lite peppar. Den här typen av öl (saison) är inte min favorit, men den här är helt ok.

Out of a bottle. Pour is hazy straw colored with a generous and persistent white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, and floral overtones with a hint of spice and belgian funk. Taste is citrusy, and a well balanced amarillo hop bitterness counterbalanced with a touch of malty sweetness. Surprisingly no boozy-ness from the 8.5 abv. Finish is peppery and dry with some lingering grapefruit-like citrus bitterness. The mouthfeel is very light and the beer comes across smooth and thirst quenching. Complex, but not oppressively so. It seems deceptively session-able, hiding it's 8.5 abv very well. Tastes and feels like a nice lite summer beer. But watch out if you are thirsty. This beer is a velvet hammer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a slightly hazy straw golden-yellow with a fluffy white head. Nice estery funky nose, grassy and peppery, some nice citrus, and quite floral. Taste is nice and refreshing, lemony and peppery, great barnyard funk, orange, other citrus fruits, and a nice dry finish. A great summer beer, very refreshing, very smooth and great for a hot day.

The Farmhouse Ale has a golden appearance with substantial head. The aroma is very floral. As I sip, I also taste the malt. There’s a balanced sourness to this beer, and the palate is pleasant. It’s a very good beer!

Best before August of 2013.
Appearance: The body is a clear gold with a tall and dense white head that has excellent retention. The head settles into a thin coating with a thin but creamy ring.
Aroma: The aroma is of sweet orange with hints of sweet malts and a doughy peppery dryness. Very nice.
Taste: Hints of orange and grapefruit are noted on the intro that run throughout over a slightly watery body, hints of peppery spice are noted by the finish, but the malts are a bit shy providing only hints of sweetness.
Palate: Medium bodied, kind of a watery feel, with moderate carbonation.
Overall: This is a great saison, though I don’t love it. The flavor is a bit thin at times, with hints of great. This is nearing the end of it’s life cycle though, I wonder if it’s better fresh.

Amazing brew! In the series that includes the Saison Brett and the Sixth Glass this fits most excellently! It’s like a great story like Star Wars Episodes 4 and 5! It has a foamy head, yet delicate. Malty notes with a bit of a herby swing to it. But not overpowering. The washdown is so smooth. Each glass brings you to it’s creators vision. A masterpiece! Sublime. Understated. Complex. One of the year’s best brews!

A refreshing saison. Aroma of mild citrus in a very pleasant pour leads into well-balanced also citrus centers saison which tastes much lighter than the 8+ABV.
