COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Bottle shared by Rob at the Pig in Boca. Thanks! Small snifter pour was yellow-gold with a nice fluffy one finger head. Aroma was biscuit, barnyard, wet straw, funk, fruit (apricot or lychee). Taste was awesome with funky wild yeasts, hay/straw, slight fruity esters, horse blanket. Light, clean, carbonated, funky finish. Damn good and look forward to another one of these.

Hazy orange body, large white head, and soapy lacing. Peppery yeast, bright citrus, straw, lightly chalky, and some mineral water. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, semi-dry throughout, lingering finish.

Bottle: For a style that I don’t tend to go for all that much... this is pretty good. It’s refreshing. Lots of fruit and a great long, but clean refreshing finish. Good Stuff.

Kinda funky, kinda wheaty, kinda odd. I mean I don’t know how to describe it. Very drinkable and refreshing.

Bottle got from a friend. Aroma has citrus, orange, hoppy, grapefruit Pours blond, misty, white foamy head, lacing, but fading. Taste has the same fruityness as the aroma. Some citrusfruits, but also a bit of bubblegum. Fruity, summerish finish, mildly bitter, low carbo. Nice brew.

Tap @ Weeshuis Schiedam, medium sample. Clear golden color, medium frothy white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, bit peppery, flowery hops, bit fruity. Soft bitter in taste, spicy, bit dry, bit sweet. Quite typical belgian blonde/tripel, but well brewed. Nothing funky or farmhouse about it though. Pretty straightforward. Fits the Duvel ownership now.

Light fruits and bready yeast from the bottle, the beer pours a hazy, dark lemon, capped with a deep and porous foam that begins to disintegrate immediately. Subtle hints of pomelo and mandarin orange grace this brew and carry the yeasts rather than hiding it. Though the initial aroma carried very little of the fruit, the longer it sits, the less the deteriorating cap can keep them hidden. A bit doughy for me, but the flavor is summery and would be a good option for a hot day. The taste is a bit dry and long as should be expected, but there’s a spot in the back of my throat that won’t let go of that funky bitter dough. The front is pleasant, light, and a little grassy; the swallow a dry, spicy experience; the back end, however, is not my favorite. The finish is too long for the aftertaste, as I don’t really find it pleasant. The foam is consistent, still hanging in there and making it a sweet visual in the glass to the end of the beer. I accidentally bought two bottles of this for review, and although it’s not a bad brew, I’m not thrilled about having purchased so much of it. I won’t go with this farmhouse ale again.

Draft at the growler buck pours a light tan color with a sweetish yeasty semi boozy flavor. Interesting

Pours hazy golden with moderate to good head retention. Aroma of citrus and yeast, straw, and ever so slightly dough. Solid mouthfeel. Tastes of mild spice and fully developed flavor. Does not taste 8.7%. Fantastic, savory, delicious.
