COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Poured out of bottle into a wide flute beer glass. Lots of bubbles on the initial pour, quickly dissipating head with just the edge of the glass graced by the lace. Bright orange color, opaque. Smell: Floral hops and citrus.. mostly grapefruit. Pleasant and mellow. Taste: No real flavors coming through, though still very nice... maybe a little orange. The bitterness coming into play at the end, which is good. Soft texture, not quite creamy though. While not a powerhouse, it is very nice to drink. For me it fits both a summer and winter drink. It’s simple taste makes it refreshing for hot days, but the softness also makes it appealing to a cold night in front of the fireplace.

Opaque, dark hay-coloured beer with a big frothy head. Smell is weak and subtle. Citrus with some spices, white pepper and coriander. Cherry and peachy sweetness. Fresh cheese. Taste is malty breadiness with hints of citric sweetness. Fizzy and crisp. Dry undefined finish. Hint of metal and minerals. Vanilla.

Tap at Spaarbank, Tilburg. Orange color, decent white head, lace. Light funkyness, saison yeast and apricot in the nose. Medium-bodied. Grassy hoppy, fruity and spicey flavor. Clean mouthfeel. Not too exciting but well-brewed.

Fles 33cl. Kleur geel, met een mooie stabiele schuimkraag. Niet te dik. Geur grafefruit, tropisch. Smaak is fris, lychee, grapefruit, en bitter. Lekker fris bier, alcohol goed gecamoufleerd

750 ml corked & caged bottle, BB date 07.2013, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.5%. Slightly hazy golden colour, large white head. Lovely aroma of farmhouse kitchen and dry white wine, also hints of tropical fruits. The flavour is medium sweet, maybe not quite as fresh as it ought to be, but still very good. Fruity / citrussy and mildly spicy notes. Enjoyable, will buy again, and sample when fresher.
