COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed straw orange color with a big billowy white head. The head has a fantastic level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a fantastic level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is big of yeast and some bready and wheaty smells. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of a lemon and grapefruit smell as well as some grassy notes all complimented by a nice lemongrass aroma. A decent level of a funk smell mixed with hay and some coriander spice are all there giving a nice, somewhat drier overall farmhouse aroma. Taste – The taste begins flavors of citrus with both sweeter orange as well as some bitter grapefruit and lemon both being there. Wheat bread flavors and some yeast are present upfront with the yeast getting stronger as the taste moves forward. While the yeast grows stronger the orange citrus fades all while some lemongrass and hay come to the tongue. A little bit of spice of coriander and clove come to the tongue along with a rather moderate showing of funk. The funk and grass flavors get stronger as the taste advances to the end, leaving a more crisp and slightly drier nicely funked but still refreshing flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side for a saison with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. While traditionally a thinner body is more stylish for the saison, the thicker body actually does rather nice in this one accentuating the funk nicely, which in this one is rather nicely balanced by the other flavors of the brew. While the non-standard thicker body is nice the standard higher carbonation level is very nice as well for the flavors and brew as it makes for a nice refreshing beer overall. Overall – This is one very nice, fruity, but drier and nicely flavor blended and funked brew. This is a nice saison that is super easy to drink at 8.5 %. Delicious and dangerously good.

Bottle into snifter glass, cloudy amber’ish golden color with fluffy off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast (clove, faint banana), lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, caramel malt, faint spices and light earthy/floral hops. Taste adds notes of bread, white pepper, honey, citrus, straw, light booze, and yeast funk. Medium body, low carbonation, dry with spicy/bitter finish. Very nice hop and spice flavored saison.

Also on tap at brewery. Very Spicy taste. Nice white fluffy head. Slight alcohol taste to it but not enough to make it undrinkable. Can’t wait til this one hits shelves.

I love it. Has a yeasty floral aroma. Nice balance of camel sweetness with bitter hoppieness. Flavors of fresh baked bread, pine, and watermelon. Light medium body. Hides it’s 8.5 percent abv very well. Very drinkable. Every sip leaves me craving more.

Hipster, everywhere. Need a farmhouse or saison to be cool. This is it. Grapefruit some sour orange peel, anyone can cruise with this Bronson. Easy to find, best on tap. Higher ABV. Dies not taste like it. Perfect with mellow cheeses. Get at your local grill with cheese platter. Each different cheese can bring out each distinct fruity tart notes.
