COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

0.75 l bottle from Arkadia Alko, Helsinki (Special Collection). Nice big white head, cloudy yellow colour. Quite mild taste with some fruits especially citrus. Also some grapefruit from the hops. Easy to drink despite the high content of alcohol. Does not go well with spicy food, but some fish sandwiches were fine with this.

33cl bottle at Lepeltje Lepeltje, Amersfoort. Somewhat hazy dark orange with a medium white soapy head with long retention. Well balanced sweet and bitter tones. Peach, citrus, grapefruit, caramel and spices. A very tasty bitter brew.

Bottle from giant eagle na. Nose is Belgian and crisp. Thinnish body and clean. Light apple and sweet esters mixed into the malt. Somewhat bready too. Decent but not overwhelming.

On tap. Pours golden yellow with a big, foamy white head. Aroma is of spice, wheat, banana, and malt. Taste is very spicy, with a lot of wheat and bready malt. A lot of banana as well. The whole thing has an underlying peppery character. Lingering pepper taste. Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Body is medium and heavily carbonated. Drinks easy. Not bad.

Pours hazy light orange with a nice white head. Head retention is great. AROMA: Orange, funk, citrus, hop floral notes, slight bitterness, herbs, light peppercorn, white wine and slight tart. TASTE: Orange, tart, funk, caramel, citrus, herbs, hop oils, malt, light spice, slight bread, faint alcohol and hop bitterness. AFTER TASTE: Orange, peppercorn, hop bitterness, tart, slight funk and malt with a oily yet crisp finnish. BOTTLE: Best by date 07-2013, Batch # 712293, today’s date 05/21/2015. I re-corked it. Thinking of doing a side-by-side with a fresher bottle. it’s a great balanced brew with many great aromas/flavors but I would like to compare it with a younger batch. Will review this brew again soon.

Draft @ Café Mombasa, Borgerhout. Sweet citrus aroma with bready malty notes. Grapefruit and tropical fruit. Strange style, mix of saison, IPA and tripel. Not bad at all.

Draught @ Albion. Cloudy golden yellow with very small white foamy head, faint vanilla aroma, medium carbonation, slightly flat yeasty taste with faint vanilla flavor, medium finish. Smooth but not that great, on the other hand very very smooth for a strong ale.
