COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2014 355 ml bottle, pours opaque yellow with ha large beige foamy head. Aroma of banana, orange and lemon peels. Taste is similar to the aroma, but also with a hint of spices and herbs. Well carbonated, medium body and somewhat bitter. Not a hint of alcohol even though this beer is 8.5% ABV. A very pleasant saison.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a shaker. The aroma is a bright, sweet tropical fruit and citrus note along with a bit of candy sugar. It pours a murky orange yellow with a big, white creamy, rocky, uneven head that retains quite well and leaves lots of sudsy lace. The taste is a medium high, fruit sweet with a medium bitterness. The viscous beer has a slippery, soapy carbonation to it. The full body contains flavors of bread, spice, and tropical fruit. The finish is peppery, clean, and crisp with a slightly burnt, bread crust aftertaste.

Clear golden color, one finger white head. Aroma is floral, wheat, grass, citrus, hop and some pine possibly spice. Taste is pretty Belgian witty. Floral and pine hoppy, yeast, some spice and definitely citrus. Pretty good. Lots of centric notes. Hard to decipher this from a wit bier.

The bubble carbonation brings out all the flavor in this bright beer. A sweet malty note up front, followed by a fruity orange twist at the end with a nice settle mouthfeel. Not much to the nose on this one and it has some strong acetic notes at the end, but that might be expected in a farmhouse.

Purchased at Scotts Valley market. Firmness and height of head is related to how carefully you pour it and its temperature. Maybe it is bottle conditioned because there is some yeast in it, it is a little cloudy. It is not all that heavily carbonated and has not got that much bitterness. It reminds me of Saison Dupont except the hops are better, the mouth-feel is better and there are more layers of flavor. This became my go-to Saison in two bottles.

Bottle from SŁdōst, Oslo. Pours straw. Lots of white head. Banana, lemongrass, some spice and yeast flavour. Medium body. Medium to low carbonation. Refreshing. Sweet. Some bitterness. Very good!

Bottle. Moderate to heavy grain and straw for the malt, moderate to heavy herbs, pine and lemon peel for the hops, moderate barnyard for the yeast, with notes of unripe apple, wood and ginger. Head is average size, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy light amber with a good amount of tiny particles. Flavor starts faintly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a carbonation between lively and fizzy, and has a dry finish. An over the top Saison with a super hop presence.

12 oz. bottle @KC airport "Top of the Crown Grill" Muted straw aroma. Thin hazy yellow with a medium carbonation ring. Italian bread with oak taste. Hops are subtle, but add to the earthiness. Finish isn't as dry as advertised, but it sits on your tongue foreeeeeever. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy maize yellow color with a white head and rather impressive lacing. Aroma of yeast, spice, and lemon with yeast, spice, orange, and some hops. Dry finish. Nice beer.

Bottle from ABC. Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin, quickly vanishing white head. Strong hop aroma, mostly grass with hints of citrus, maybe some raisin. Taste is somewhat bitter but sticks around well after the finish. I've heard good things and am not at all disappointed. Acquire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11/2/2014. 12 oz bottle purchased at Full Throttle Bottles, poured into a goblet. Pours with two fingers of dense, white head with a few large bubbles here and there that lingers. Massive Brussels lace on the sides of the glass, that stays a long time. Golden hued and slightly cloudy. Fruity aroma of apple, biscuit, yeast, apricot. Floral hops notes. Nice sweetness up front that stays around with the finish that also has a little bitterness from the hops and a little acidity. Moderate carbonation - almost fizzy but just short of it. Light body, on the dry side. Long finish. Wow - itís like Iím in Belgium!
