COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

The beer was picked as a part of the 4 bottle sampler pack with sweet tulip glass packed in, which I used for this review. The beer looked very hazy in the glass, with a three finger thick head, and a golden body. The smell deviated from the Saison mold quite a bit due to the use of grapefruit like American hops. There was some bubblegum in the nose, which I suspect was the yeast. The taste was expertly balanced between bold and delicate flavors,. There was a noticeable use of citric hops, and a peppery spiciness. But there was also a floral character, and some orange peel, and banana notes. The mouthfeel was airy, and light, with a creamy carbonation. This was one of the best American interpretation of a Saison,, I’ve had in a while.

Light golden and hazy with a white head. Nose if a real farmhouse, stinky but also fruity and grapefruity. Taste is bitter. Palate is a great variety of summer tastes, aromas, flavours and smells. Coriander and Belgian yeasts as well. Dry and spicy aftertaste. B@H

Had at numerous locations here in kc. This has been my favorite one so far. Great barnyard flavors.

4 pack from the LCBO. One of the prettiest beers I’ve seen pour into the glass, all long legs of golden honey & a thick platinum blonde cap on the top. Bready yeast, baseball card bubble gum, grapefruit candy, balanced spicing & a strong hop presence on the tongue. A crisp, dry finish. It’s the summer of the saison -- at least in my neck of the woods -- & this is an epic beer, perhaps the best saison I’ve had this year. Going back to buy more of these before you do. Fantastic beer.

Pours flat straw yellow with big frothy head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet, medium malty, aromatic hops, lemon, cellar, hint of perfume. Notes of banana, peach and summer flowers. Flavor is rather malty, bitter, even liquors, leaves a smooth, long aftertaste with some earthy tones. Dry finish. Body is medium, palate is oily, carbonation is lively. Not sour for a Saison, still well balanced and delicious.

Huge persistent rocky white. Great lacing. Slightly hazy straw colour. Big tropical, citrus, almost seems like there is a Bretty character. Big juicy flavour. Med-light body. Crisp and dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Hazy orange. Big, bubbly head tightens up to a thin, sticky film. Nice, sweet grainy bread on the nose. Banana toffee and fruity hop. Taste is soft sweet, turning zesty, chewy bitter. Full body. Soft carbonation. Finishes long, zesty bitter. Spicy, dry close. Nice hopped up saison.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a two finger, white head and fine sediments. Aroma has big notes of bubble gum, citrus, candy sugar, and tropical fruits. Taste is balanced. Non sweet candy sugar, citrus, bubble gum, tropical fruits, slight pine and resin, and a drawn out, mildly bitter ending. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation. Slightly syrupy/resiny mouth feel with a dry finish. Overall a nice saison. Classic flavours with some American hop notes to mix it up.
