3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours amber with a fair amount of foam and some spotty lace. The aroma is malt and raisins and graham crackers, and a lot of boozy heat. This thing doesnít hide itís big-ass 10.5% ABV at all. It tastes good, though. It opens clean, then a big, sweet malt hits the tongue. Some boozy burn at the end. This beer is nowhere near as good as the real stuff, Rochefort 10 or St Bernardus 12. But Iíve had plenty of American beers made in the Belgian quad tradition that where nowhere near this good.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a brilliant copper/orange with a orange cream sponge cake head with good lacing. Wonderful fruity esters and caramel. Carbonated, jumpy full mouthfeel, with brightening ester and a touch of warming character.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes. This one pours a somewhat dark hazy brown color and leaves the same color body with a one finger white foamy head that drifts up and falls at a nice pace, foamy clingy lacing sticks to the sides of the glass. The smell has mainly sweet through some spiced apples, light caramel thrusts itself in the mix, some light Belgian yeastiness does enter in on the back end. The taste is mainly sweet with a decent added spiciness that didnít show up at all in the smell, sweet somewhat apple-like aftertaste, no finish. On the palate, she sits about a medium on the mouth, carbonation comes across fairly strong - sharper than most Quads Iíve had (I wonder if I should have let this age just a bit longer). Overall, for the most part, I do like this one, but am hoping my bottleís just a bit young and hopefully the next time I have this Iíll either look for an older bottle or just age whatever bottle I get longer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours caramel and hazy with ample sedimentation. Booziness overwhelms everything. Maybe itís because Iíve not had a quad in awhile, but Iíve had other high ABV beers recently and they did not have that quality. A bit fruity, but not as much as I would expect. Also some good malty caramel as well, but not too much more. Finishes long with booziness. I wasnít impressed with this one.
