Better known for stories such as The Little Mermaid, Andersen wrote this short, cautionary tale for a somewhat older audience. Our quadrupel ale, also meant for the mature connoisseur, is a deep and mysterious libation, dark auburn and full-bodied, its sweetness deceptive. The aroma is brown sugar with grass spice and fruit. The appearance is typical for the style as is the palate. The taste is like the aroma. Overall pretty average quad.

Dark amber body with short head. Soft banana on the nose also some light spice, in the taste first came some raisin notes then some notes of figs and some burnt woody notes, didn’t pick up the alcohol only a little warmth, finished the bottle easy enough even after a few of my favourites big beers so must it be good.

Bottle...vinous character with dark raisins and bittersweet floral. Sophisticated and complex yet comfortable like well worn leather. Outstanding.

From the bottle. Nice quad, though not spectacular. They got the carbonation, warmth, sweetness right, though the color and flavor lack the richness you would really hope for. I did not find this to be very bitter. The flavor profile and mouthfeel approximate a good quad. Nicely done.
