4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The shape of the bottle, the quirky label artwork, and the Boulevard Brewing Co. name engraved on the neck gave off a very European vibe. The body looked a little paler than a typical Quad, with the color of mahogany. The head was fizzy and short lived, settling down to a lacy collar. The smell had fragrances of apricot, hazelnut, and pear. The flavor was delicately sweet and a bit spicy. I could taste raisin, pears, saffron, toffee, and chili pepper. The aftertaste was sweet like hard candy, until abruptly being cut off by yeasty dryness. Quite sticky in the mouth, and not quite as velvety smooth like the true Belgian varieties. The beer would have benefited from some darker malts to further enhance the date and fig flavors mentioned on the label, and add complexity.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle into Trappist glass, dirty rusty amber color with creamy light tan head. Aroma of Belgian yeast spiciness, grass hops, dried fruits (figs, apricots, raisins), brown sugar and light nutty/woodiness. Taste adds notes of caramel, fresh fruit (apples, berries), slightly vinous, herbal, light alcohol and slight earthy mustiness. Heavy-medium body, moderate carbonation, dry with fruity yeast boozy finish. Pretty nice quad, hits the right notes albeit a little on the boozy side.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Flaska från SB. Kopparröd vätska. Tydliga aromer av daddlar, soltorkade russin och färska plommon. Hög komplex sötma varvas med en sjuhelsikes eldig och fyllig munkänsla. En bra amerikansk tolkning.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from systembolaget. The smell is very sweet, tones of grapes, caramel, some yeast and grape fruit. Pours darker orange with a rich white head which dissolves quickly. Taste is full and complex. Very fresh for a quadrupel, sweet taste with some fruits and a little malts. Palate has a full body and is very tasteful. Overall a very good beer. A nice substitute for the infamous Westvleteren XII

(Bottle) Hazy reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, honey, chestnuts, brown sugar and spices. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, caramel, brown sugar, hints of crisp-bread and a balanced spicy bitterness in a finish with some sweetness and a gentle alcohol glow. Full body, with soft and well balanced mouthfeel for its strength. Fairly sweet. Quite well balanced and tasty for its alcohol level. very nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Cloudy amber pour. big head. Fruity and yeasty. Aroma of bread, fruit, spice and alcohol. Flavor similar with some toffee and duustiness in there as well. Sharp feel, perhaps a bit too alcoholic, but still a nice brew (though not a standout in style)."

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber with a huge creamy mostly lasting brown head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of yeast, caramel, ripe dark fruit and alcohol. Lightly bitter and medium sweet taste, medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation and a brief lightly bitter somewhat sweet finish. Does not hide the alcohol well.
