Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thatís just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard itís fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2013 [Preliminary batches of this were nice - I now find it too sweet, with some.astrigent hop acids at times - still enjoy in a pinch, but not often] Tap at Falling Rock - turbid gold with a well-sustained head, that leaves lace clinging all the way down the glass as you drink - a bit sweet (apple) and phenolic up front, but it dries out pretty fast - some subtle rustic, earthy, almost funky character to it - some herbal, grassy flavors, even a bit peppery - starts to get even more dry, and even flinty at the end, and through the finish, leaving a crisp, dry feeling on the tongue - a very nice saison, but I would like a little less sweetness up front.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance: The body has a light orange amber color with a hazy yeast presence. Itís topped off with a soft soapy head which slowly settles down to thin creamy covering. Lacing is mostly slick and slides down the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma has nice notes of lemon grass, wet hay/barnyard, sour dough bread, grassy hops and a touch of orange peel. Taste / Palate: The flavor perfectly matches the aroma. The balance is spot on and it has a light hop finish. The feel is lively and weíll carbonated.

Smells like green acorns in a wet area.glowing cloudy orange with a huge frothy lasting head. Cold tart and crisp entering your mouth. A smooth warming spice generates as it swirls in your mouth. Refreshing yet still a slight grassy dryness as it fades.

Small bottle. Fruity, dry nose, crisp and floaral. Lemony, yeast, biscuit and bread, crackers. Pepper finish with lemon and orange. A great saison, not like to many thick and sweet American ones.
