Clear, light amber, little lace. Intriguing nose. Full body, intensely flavored, big mouthfeel, hot and silky, nicely carbonated, long and flavorful aftertaste. Sweetish, bitter, crisp. Very minty, malty, maple. Very original, great tasting, I'm sure soon there will be imitations. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at KC Beer Fest 2013, solid and interesting with a predominant, yet harmonious layer of mint overshadowing the warm, slightly spicy tones of the beer and barrel, would like to try this with the mint dialed way back

12 oz tulip draft at Martin City Brewing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazed darker golden with a well formed one inch white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is a pleasant mix of fresh mint, Bourbon barrel and the straw earthy sweet of the base Tripel. All aromas play nicely together, well integrated. The taste is equal parts big mint and big Bourbon. The base Tripel is present, though certainly below the mint and Bourbon. The palate is medium bodied, with a warming alcohol mint finish. Boulevard certainly nailed the mint Julep on this one.

Pours hazy dark gold. Aroma is honey, booze, mint, and oak. Taste reflects the same and finishes spicy with heavy oak and booze. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy orange with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of peppermint, some funky notes, vanilla, oak, and peppery Belgian character. Flavor of peppermint, spicy Belgian yeast, vanilla and candi sugar and tropical fruits.

Sampled at Perennial’s Midwest Belgian Beer Festival - This was definitely a different take on a tripel. Pours hazy dark orange with a white head. The aroma has lots of mint, barrel aged whiskey taste, heavy malt and an odd muddled flavor - very interesting. It has a medium / ful body that is very rich with mild carbonation. The flavor starts with bourbon, heavy malt and lots of fresh crisp mint. The finish is very minty and malty. Interesting and enjoyable, but not sure I’d want a very large portion at a time.

On draught. Pours a hazy amber, with a moderate white head. Nose is peppermint candy. Taste follows. Lots of peppermint flavor, with a slightly boozy finish. Not bad as a novelty.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of mint and herbs. Tastes of mint, caramel, light herbs and spices. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Interesting combo. Mintiness reminds me of the dentist.
