COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer is a lively, refreshing ale with a naturally citrusy flavor and distinctive cloudy appearance. It is reminiscent of the wheat beers that were brewed at the turn of the century, before the advent of modern filtration. This easy-drinking American-style wheat beer has become our most popular offering, and the best-selling craft beer in the Midwest. 2008 GABF gold medal winner in Session Beer category.

Bottle thanks to beastie. Enjoyed after a long day and a beautiful bike ride home. Cloudy gold pour with ample head. Aroma: light citrus, my kidís apple juice, dust, more apples and banana-y esters. Pretty low key, though. Moderately sweet; toasted wheat cereal; short minimally bitter finish. Light body, average carbonation, but still feels a little sluggish. Overall: based on comparison with beastieís rate, I gather that nostalgia/homerism is worth about a full point. Makes me fear what his rating of Mannyís will look like.

Draft at the brewery. Light yellow color. Not a lot of flavor. Kind of watered down. Pass

Pours hazy straw color with a 2-finger white head. Aroma is lemony and grassy. Body is light, with a touch of a soapy feel. Flavors of lemon and grass, with a note of black pepper from the wheat.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 5/9/2015. Pours hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness and slight bready tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/yeast/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a very good pale wheat ale style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle, best by May 9, 2015.
Glass: Sam Adams Perfect Pint.
Appearance: Cloudy straw to golden body with a tall and rocky foamy white head.
Aroma: Aroma has a hint of spice in it with light lemon, rather mild and clean.
Taste: Really mild, crisp with hints of malt sweetness and a dash of lemon and orange. Very mild.
Palate: Light bodied and crisp with sharp carbonation.
Overall: Nothing that excites, but itís a clean wheat ale that would be refreshing on a hot day.
