COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer is a lively, refreshing ale with a naturally citrusy flavor and distinctive cloudy appearance. It is reminiscent of the wheat beers that were brewed at the turn of the century, before the advent of modern filtration. This easy-drinking American-style wheat beer has become our most popular offering, and the best-selling craft beer in the Midwest. 2008 GABF gold medal winner in Session Beer category.

The head was spare and diminishing with a yellow color. It had an interesting flavor with no bitter aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2005 very yellow, cloudy appearance. not much of a taste, guess the wheat stands out slightly with possible lemon overtone. carbonated, watery. rereated 12/20 to the same conclussion, actually bumped rating down a hair.

Bottle: Pale yellow, almost Wit-Bier like in color, cloudy, thin white fizzy head, falls quickly, spotty lacing, very light carbonation.   Slight citrus based wheaty aroma, a bit musty.   Dull lemony wheat based flavor.   Comes across as a Hefe light with a dash of lemon in it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering lemony aspect on the finish, but otherwise rather dull.   Needs to be a bit more filling.   Also seems a bit spritzy in the mouth.

Another common beer on tap around St. Louis. The place across from my hotel served it in a giant plastic cup - nice price for it, but c’mon, plastic? At our hotel, it seemed to go really well with the sushi. Nice herbal clove aroma, slight banana, not very citrus in the nose. Taste was smooth and citrus around the edges, lightly sweet, hints of lemon rind bitterness at the finish.

Bottle poured a cloudy yellow with a small but lasting white head. Aromas of bread dough, and a hint of citrus. Palate was light and crisp. Flavors of bread, and a bit of citrus with a crisp and refreshing finish.

Not impressed with this wheat. Draft at Ozzie Smith’s sports bar in St. Louis. Nothing distinguishing at all. Rather bland.

Decent hazy pour with wispy white head. mild cut grass notes and some lemony highlights. Nothing spectacular but very drinkable and refreshing wheat that I wouldn’t mind repeating.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2006 Draught. Hazy yellow color with thin white head. Yeasty, citrusy wheat aromas that come out again in the flavor along with a grainy aftertaste. Easy on the palate. Very refreshing on a warm day.

I’m not typically a fan of wheat beers, but I’ll have this one any summer day. By far the best wheat I’ve tried, and I’ve had quite a few. Out of a bottle, you must swirl the last 1/3 of the beer around and then continue pouring, or you won’t get the yeast. Light in flavor, without an overpowering aftertaste which so many wheat beers leave. Very quenching, and perfect for a good thirst. If you like wheat beers, you’ll love this. Most of the bad reviews appear to come from those who are for some reason looking for a dark beer.
