COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer is a lively, refreshing ale with a naturally citrusy flavor and distinctive cloudy appearance. It is reminiscent of the wheat beers that were brewed at the turn of the century, before the advent of modern filtration. This easy-drinking American-style wheat beer has become our most popular offering, and the best-selling craft beer in the Midwest. 2008 GABF gold medal winner in Session Beer category.

I had to give a five for the aroma because it was served with a lemon and it coloured the aroma of the beer. There was a nic ehead that dissapeared right away. Overall it is pretty mild. A tad bitter with some citrus not from the lemon. This is very drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Bottled. Poured into a tall weizen glass, thereís a big wheaty head that dissipates rapidly, with little lacing. Light, cloudy body. Smell is a refreshing, light íní zesty wheat, with just a tiny hint of lemony zest. Taste goes down easy, soft and a little spicy. No "extreme" taste but very nice. Couple weeks ago I ran into Boulevardís brewmasterís wife at Rock Bottom Chicago. She was looking for more good beer places, so I helped her locate more, while admitting that I hadnít tried any Boulevard beers yet. Then on a trip through Iowa, I found them placed in Hy-Vee stores and happily picked up a six of this to try.

I have had this both in bottles and on tap. It is a nice beer to drink at the stadium watching baseball.

On tap, wonderfully cloudy and straw-colored, with a big fluffy head. Excellent nose of banana, orange, and grass (let your barkeep throw a lemon in there and you will certainly miss this aspect). On tasting, the beer is timid and lacks depth. A good effort and a hefe brewed with an unorthodox method, but still needs some development. This hefe is an advertisement for the modern methods of brewing wheat beers.

This is my favorite of the Boulevard beers. It tasteís great after a round of golf in a hot, humid day in the Midwest.

Overall a pretty plain and boring beer. Slight lime (citrus) scent. Very, very little head, almost to the point of being flat. Slight sour notes, not as smooth as other wheat beers around. Very biting mouthfeel.

A nice drinkable beer. The most noteworthy thing about it was its lack of anything that could be considered noteworthy. Just a very ordinary wheat. Very drinkable, just kind of plain.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2006 The beer that got me to like beer. Sure it is on the watery side, but with a lemon the light taste are strengthened. The appearence is one of the finest Iíve ever seen. Love it!

Deep, cloudy gold with a musty aroma. Yeast and honey dominate with perhaps a sour citrus. A slice of lemon definitely helps bring out the flavor. A nice wheat beer, nothing special.

Pours murky yellow-gold with smallish head. Honey and peach to the nose. More honeyed flavors in the taste with wheat and a mild hops finish. Clean with nice aftertaste. Mouthfeel is excellent and has a velvety, buttery quality. I like this quite a bit.
