Boulevard Whiskey Porter

Sample from the Blvd tasting room, 02/02/07. Black with a 1/2 finger creamy beige head, fair retention. Aroma of chocolate and whiskey (not a ton of oak, though) up front, with just a tinge of brown sugar in the background. Flavor was much the same (luckily the whiskey wasn’t too strong), though it does seem a bit blunted for some reason. There was also a bit of grassy hops, and a little earth in the finish. Light to medium body, with light carbonation. Overall, a bit of a letdown. The Bully Porter is much better. The guide for the tour told us this was ~7%ABV.
