3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 randolphjj (116) - Raymore, Missouri, USA - SEP 14, 2009
Summertime beer is right! Picture yourself coming in after mowing the lawn. It’s 114 degrees out. You’re really thirsty. This is the one to reach for. Light, crisp. You get a nice wheat on the nose and palate, but there’s the delicate orange peel & coriander that sneaks up just a little and reminds you that there’s something else to this beer. Nicely done for summer.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bblack99 (505) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - SEP 10, 2009
Hazy/cloudy yellow with a dense white cap of foam, just as expected from a witbier. Aroma is coriander to the extreme with a little citrus hiding in the shadows.
Flavor is similar to many whites, pepper, spices (coriander), a touch of lemony citrus, and a base similar to Unfiltered Wheat.
Light body, meant for hot weather in a typical KC summer. In my KC vs. StL beer battle, this beats Schlafly’s Helles Style Summer Lager, but it’s just not that spectacular when stacked up against other Bully beers.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 llcooldave (722) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - SEP 6, 2009
Cloudy lemony white appearance. Definite spicy coriander aroma plus, interestingly enough, a little smoke. Creamy malt flavor with a touch of spice and citrus. Overall, a nice white ale... a solid effort.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GranvilleTim (955) - Granville, Illinois, USA - SEP 6, 2009
Another one from a sampler. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Aroma of orange zest, wheat and coriander. the flavor reflects the aroma. It was an o.k. beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 drowland (3570) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 26, 2009
12oz into a wheat glass. An alright interpretation, but really off the mark for high-quality whites.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopdog (6943) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 25, 2009
12oz bottle. Poured a lighter and hazy yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of wheatiness, citrus (lemon rinds), and a trace of spices. Tastes of citrus, spices (stronger than the aromas), and wheat.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 troopie (1557) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - AUG 17, 2009
Bottle after very stressful day. Poured cloudy yellow with medium white head, Herby and citrusy aroma. Orange and herb in the flavour. Lekker dry finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beardface (1480) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - AUG 17, 2009
12 oz bottle from Market of Choice. Poured out a hazy, pale yellow with a decently thick white head and absolutely zero lacing. When the beer was gone it was like it was never in the glass at all! Aroma was full of some nice light spices like coriander and pepper and a bit of wheat. Flavor was coriander, pepper, light citrus fruit, light wheat. Not terrible by any means, but definitely the least of the Boulevard beers I’ve had so far.
