COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard’s summer seasonal is our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier. ZŌN (Flemish for “sun”) combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew. 2009 GABF gold medal winner in Belgian-Style Witbier category.

Pale and cloudy, with a thin head. Very strong wheat aroma, with lemons and spice as well. A bit flat feeling. Very tangy, and true to form. A bit low on alcohol though.

355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a minimal white head. Intense spicy lemon nose. Citrus and spice continue on into a light body. Moderate initial sweetness tapers off to a crisp finish.

Bottle, Witbier, ok so not as sweet or perfumy as Hoegaarden, but fruitier than wittekerke. Appearance is a bit darker and more orange than other wits.

Bottle... Hazy, barely straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is both extremely estery and phenolic or they’ve spiced the high hell out of this one. Seems like a light dose of liquid smoke was also thrown into the mix. The flavor is much the same with delicate notes of barely-kilned grains. Light-bodied and thin with medium carbonation. Finishes watery and spicy. It tastes like a "kit beer" to me. However, in all fairness, I’m totally repulsed by any semblance of spice in a beer. It’s just not my thing.

Not bad. Nice cloudy pale yellow color with a nice foamy head. Aroma predominantly citrus. Flavor quite yeasty with a bit of citrus. Not the best white I’ve had but I’d drink it again.

12 oz bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color. Head was white and rapidly disappeared. Aroma was of yeasty bread dough, subdued orange, and coriander. Dry and a bit tart on the tongue. Citrus and yeast flavors predominate with a dash of coriander. Good wit.

Picked this up at Hy-Vee as soon as they stocked it. Pours into a tumbler a cloudy straw yellow with a small, fizzy, 1 finger white head. Cloves, orange, and coriander in the aroma. Kind of reminds me of Blue Moon. Taste has Lemon, coriander, and orange in it. Aftertaste holds wheat, clove, and a light peppery spice. Good carbonation and a light medium body. This brew is like Blue Moon with less orange, which is always a chief complaint of mine with that beer. Spot on for a solid wit.

Pours a cloudy light yellow with a small, white, diminishing head. The aroma is of grain or cereal and the orange and coriander notes typical of Wits, but this one is not nearly as fragrant as many others that I’ve sampled. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is mainly oranges and wheat with a crisp, pleasant, wheat finish. Interestingly the mouthfeel, driven by the carbonation, reminded me of drinking a pilsner. This would make a good session beer for any fan of wheats.
