COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard’s summer seasonal is our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier. ZŌN (Flemish for “sun”) combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew. 2009 GABF gold medal winner in Belgian-Style Witbier category.

Really pale, hazy, yellow-orange milky color. Small white head. Potent aroma of citrus, coriander, yeast, banana. The flavor is a little milder, but still comes through nice with fruity yeasty sweetness and a little spice. Crisp and refreshing, an excellent summer brew, and a well above average wit.

Among the best Witbiers out there, can stand up to Hoegaarden and the best in Belgium.

The beer pours a hazy, milky light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very nice. I get a lot of orange and coriander with some vanilla mixed in as well. The flavor is not as nice as the aroma, but it still tastes pretty good. The taste starts off with some orange peel notes and then the coriander and wheat come in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

bottle - Hazy yellow pour with a citrus, yeasty aroma that definitely suggests some spice. The flavor is quite forward with the spice. The sweet wheat flavors are there too and it’s light bodied and refreshing. Expect more obvious spice than some wits. It works fairly well.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity wheaty citrus spicy aroma. Slightly sweetish wheat malty citrus flavor with some yeasty hints. Has a wheat malty citrus yeasty finish.

Had it a bit late, I suppose. November 1st isn’t exactly prime time to have a summer seasonal Wit. Oh well. This minor fact didn’t take away the fact that this is the best Wit I ever had. Pale hazy yellow, but not in the normally unappealing way. The head was a bit thin and insubstantial, but I can look over this for it’s appealing aroma. Lemongrass, clove, a hint of banana, and only a small whiff of bubblegum. Flavor hits with an excited texture and a flavor profile that is crisp wheat but sweet yeasty fruits balance the middle and end. Definitely some citrus, like any good Wit. Wonderful session beer, nearly no alcoholic taste and easy to sip often. Great Wit? Absolutely.

12 oz. bottle from Friar Tuck. Pours a hazy, perfectly even gold color with a small white head that vanishes immediately and leaves nothing. Aroma of mild orange peel, sweet malts, coriander, wheat, straw, spice, and Belgian yeast. Flavor of mild orange citrus, wheat, pepper, sweet pale malts, yeast, floral notes, and coriander. Medium-bodied, with sneaky sharp carbonation and a citrusy mouthfeel. Just an excellent Belgian wit.

On tap at BW3 in Wichita. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aromas of oranges, bananas, clove and some bready malts. Flavor of citrus in form of lemon and orange with some clove, banana, and some chewy bready malts. Pretty nice Wit beer overall. Heavy on palate for the style, but that is the way I prefer it.
