Boulevard’s summer seasonal is our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier. ZŌN (Flemish for “sun”) combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew. 2009 GABF gold medal winner in Belgian-Style Witbier category.

I had this at Global Brew. I thought this was very crisp. I thought this was a pretty good belgian witte. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Witibiers are hit and miss with me. This one was a miss. Nose had wheat, orange, and coriander. Nothing powerful, very soft. A citrus and yeast taste overpower the coriander and banana. Good carbonation, but it was an off tasting beer overall.

If I have to choose between the Unf. Wheat and this beer, I’ll choose this one every time. Sessionable if it weren’t for its flavor which is nicely balanced if strong. Lots of spice, some banana, with an active yeasty character.

Tap at FW Fest. Pours a super unique clear yellow to almost water color. The head is there but just clear and bubbly. Most unique beer color I think I’ve seen. Aroma is belgian banana and some pepper. Very little. Taste is coriander and some juicy fruit gum but very subdued. Good summer belgian but not something I need to get more of.

Zon pours a stiffly cloudy bright yellow. An incredibly active head is just about two fingers high, very soapy on the top and disappears quickly. There’s a thickness when held up to the light. lacing is mild but present. The nose is forward with a creamy wheat scent followed by the spice of Belgian yeast. Notes of bananas, cloves, and orange followed by a light bread scent. There’s also a light tartness here. Very Belgian with a light tart flavor up front followed by a peek of orange and spiciness. Bread and creamy wheat start up next but everything closes exceptionally clean. Creamy but carried extremely well. Just the perfect amount of carbonation A wonderful example of the witbier style and the first one I’ve really loved. Something easy that I could drink anyday.

Draft. The aroma is belgian lemon. The appearance is cloudy and yella. The taste is lemon zest and belgian yeast. Kinda bubblegum. Very carbonated. Overall, good belgian. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
