3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 lowg (137) - Scarborough, - AUG 9, 2009
Final beer to taste from Boulevard Sampler pack. (thanks again to my bro/sis-in-law) This one pours blond, cloudy, small white head. Aroma and taste is what I’ve come to expect from a Wit. This is a pretty good example of one, better than a RIckards white, though not as good as a Blanche de Chambly.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dixonian (938) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 9, 2012
12oz bottle.
Pale golden pour, pillowy white head. Aromas of coriander, citrus, and wheat - lots of citrus in the flavor (mostly orange) with a decent wheat bite. Not a bat Wit.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 boomerbrew (113) - Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2011
12 oz 2-pack. My wife surprized me and picked up a six pack this past summer. Kind of a late rating but I remember this being a very pleasent brew. The aroma and flavor were well balanced with the coriander and orange peel with the hops and malts. Normally I don’t care for orange flavors but I will be looking for this refreshing brew next summer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 corby112 (1862) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Pours a very cloudy, dark golden banana color with a thin, fizzy white head that quickly fades. Minimal lacing left behind.
The nose of this beer is dominated by zesty, peppery spice with lots of clove and coriander along with hints of citrus rind and bready yeast.
Fuller bodied than expected with a nice crisp, spicy bite that lingers over the sweetness into a slight dry finish. Lots of zesty spice with hints of pepper, clove and lemon zest which is countered mid-palate by the bready yeast, citrus fruit and banana. The yeast adds fullness to the palate and along with the sweetener notes provides flavorful balance. Complex, flavorful and very easy to drink, especially in warmer weather.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Reynolds314 (573) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 21, 2011
This isnt for me. I like a good wit from time to time but this one was strange. Tasted like the smell of costco; cardboard, lemon cleaning solution, and items in bulk. really not good.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ernesto987 (1257) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 20, 2011
Aroma is cardboard, old citrus fruits, and wet paper. Flavor is not much better I’m afraid. Boulevard is hit or miss, this one misses. :(
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (3595) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2011
Bottle at the Funky 7, in Brooklyn. Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a white head. Very pleasant character overall. Modest yeast and sweetness. Fresh. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Mild fruits in the finish with more yeast and wheat notes. Nice.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 seymour (607) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 7, 2011
Tasted from bottle into nucleated pub glass. Pours a golden color with full white head, little lacing. Aromas of bread dough, citrus, coriander, some hops. Malty-sweet flavors offset by hops bitterness and slightly sour ale fermentation. A very good, true-to-style Belgian Wit. Surely meant to compete against Blue Moon, but I like Boulevard’s unspiced Unfiltered Wheat Beer better.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 AWMiller (476) - Mansfield, Texas, USA - SEP 28, 2011
Not overly sweet (which is a personal plus for me!), very refreshing and quite the thirst quencher during this scorching Texas summer!! Lemony, sweet and very crisp. Very good representation of this brew style. Now all I need are some brats loaded up on top of some sauerkraut and spicy mustard and I’m in heaven!!
