COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong ale or "Winter Warmer" with dark red-brown color and a very rich malty flavor. Dry-hopped lightly with Cascades for a pleasant aroma and slightly spicy hop finish. This big beer is deceptively strong, yet tastes very smooth thanks to extra long cold conditioning.Original Gravity: 1.072

The color a translucent sanguineous color with the head Herculean in size and creamy in consistency, the color a toothsome light tan with the lace a mile thick atmosphere to save the glass from oxygen deprivation. Nose has a splendid hop floral aroma, under pinned by sweet malt, crisp, clean and fresh, over used I know, well at least as far as Iím concerned. Start is ambrosial, nicely malted and the top fair to middling in its feel, finish benignly acidic, hops out front in their spiciness, dry and lingering aftertaste, a fine example of a hopped up ďWinter WarmerĒ.

On draught at the Dog & Pony, Renton, Wa. Aroma is caramel forward followed by dried fruit and a light alcohol note. Appearance is dark red/amber with a well retained white head. Flavor is caramel forward as well balanced with light bittering hops, then sour tart dried fruit, dark chocolate and alcohol. Great complexity. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb feel, slightly spritzy and warm. Overall, this is a very interesting beer that I assume would just get better with time and become a bit smoother.

22 oz. bottle from a local wine shop, out of all places. Nice fluffy off-white head. Slightly hazy with a dark copper brown color. Iím not seeing anything wrong with this beer. There is a strong presence of yeast in the aroma. Slightly spicy banana, raisin, and booze aroma. This is much fruitier than I expected, but it has some great aromas. A lot more nuttiness comes through when I taste the beer. The aforementioned booze flavor, yeast, and raisin come through subtly. Wow, other than the somewhat astringent booze flavor, this beer is quite good. The texture is almost silky. Job well done from a Northern brewer. Iíll have to pay them a visit.

Bomber. Pours a solid dark reddish brown color with a half-inch of creamy light beige head. Plenty of dark roasted caramel malt notes in the aroma along with some butterscotch, toffee, vanilla and walnut. The taste begins with a strong dose of toasted malt, caramel and dates followed by raisin, cinnamon and woody alcohol notes. The subtle hops presence is spicy and herbal toward the end. The body is smooth and mildly creamy with more sweet malt and alcohol in the finish. The overall flavor is rich, malty and boozy as a good Winter Warmer should be.

Bottle from after4ever. Thanks Tom. This one has a nice malty aroma of dark fruits, brown sugar, chocolate, toffee, caramel, a touch of spicy hops. Pours a great dark brown tone with wonderful deep red hues and a meringue khaki head that never leaves. The flavor has more notes of toffee, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, some sugary sweetness, light roast in the back end with a moderately dry hop bitterness. Creamy drinking with itís light carbonation, and a touch of warming alcohol. This was pretty nice.

650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a 2 finger off-white head that retains well and leaves a nice lattice on the glass. Aromas are roasted barley, chocolate, caramel and spices (possibly allspice) with hints of citrus. Taste is roasted barley and citrus bitterness with chocolate and caramel malt sweetness and a pleasing spiciness in the finish. A really enjoyable winter ale that is quite strong on the palate, but still rather easy to drink. Highly recommended.
