WABeerChick (25), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 12, 2004 This beer has wonderful color and flavor. Espresso looking in body and head. The taste is roasty but very light and clean. These guys know what they are doing. jhanske (18), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 14, 2007 Nitro Tap, Old Towne, Ballard. No need to compare this to Guiness. Get over it! Guiness is a macro beer. And a light beer at that. It’s not some sort of hand crafted jewel. Thats where this stout comes in. It is a hand crafted jewel. This stout stands on its own merits. If this were available on a regular basis at the pubs I frequent I would order it at least 50% of the time. Quit the "Guiness Light" statements and get down to brass tacks. This is a great stout. riversideAK (1755), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 28, 2008 Nitro tap. Dark brown pour with a thin creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts and a touch of tartness and bitter chocolate. Interesting. Dry and roasty with a nice sour/tart quality that leaves the mouth insanely dry. This is very nice. Light and incredibly smooth. The beer that I had sounds a little different then the ones that others had, as it was not run of the mill at all. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 14, 2003 This was a really good beer, but being brewed within the style I can't help but think of it as a souped-up Giunness. The head was gorgeous and the body was full of espresso and bitter chocolate. Very dry, but that is kind of a repetitive statement isn't it? I liked this better than the Imperial actually. TimE (1066), Tokyo, Japan Jan 12, 2004 This beer has a great coffee character to it, even if it is a little on the light side for a stout.
