On tap @ Hudson. Pours dark orange copper with thin white head. Aroma is big boozy caramel malt with faintly spicy hops in the back. Taste is similar up front - heavy sweet caramel malt with bitter earthy floral hops. Rare, tasty beer, lots of anticipation for this unless you’re in Bellingham. Doesn’t quite live up to the hype, but that’s a tall order. Not bad, all considered.

6.5% on tap at CBB, 700 yen for a half pint. A clear light copper color with a bitter hoppy taste, very clean. A nicely balanced malty  backbone perfectly matched with a lemony hop flavor. Very nice.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Vibrant amber, moderate foamy off-white head, nice lacing.   A little carbonation too.   Resiny nose, citrus side of hoppy, pithy, light alcohol.   Bright resiny and citrus peel on the tongue, bitter but not biting, and very warming.   Makes my ears warm!   Very clean, lingering hoppiness that doesn’t sting.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Solid example, lots of flavor, warming, good malt base so the hops aren’t overpowering.   I seem to miss this one often, but finally after all these years got to try it officially.   One of the better PNW IIPAs.

Had this beer poured from draft at Taphouse Grill in Seattle. Orange pour. Sourish grapefruit taste with vanilla hints very hoppy. Overall very good

Finally an above average beer from BB. Its a well rounded, almost safe DIPA, but it does do it well. No finesse just a nice drinking floral hop forward beer. Does hide 9% well.

Bottle picked up during WA brewer open house. Copper amber color, very little head. Aroma big on caramel, pine as well. Slick texture, full body, soft carbonation. Taste starts pretty sweet but gives way quickly to pine/citrus hop bitterness that lingers nicely. Overall: decent double ipa, but can't help but hope for more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at the brewpub
Hazy amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Nice aroma, caramel and hop fruitiness, light sweat. The body is quite good; strong flavor of caramel, some malt, good hops, with provide mild resins in the front, and light fruitiness later; strong but not excessive bitterness.
Solid, good, a bit sturdy.

22 dec 2012, cask. Pink orange and slightly hazy. Nose is peaches and oily lemon hops. Med body and mildly fizzy. Some peaches, bit of resin hops, mild alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: An intensely aggressive piney Double IPA
How: Bottle 22oz, relatively fresh a few weeks after purchase. Bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Clear dark golden body with lots of tiny particles, medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Nose is super-resinous hops, leafy hops essence, it’s piney, it’s fruity, it’s floral, it’s everything. Not the type of fresh hypnotizing type of aroma, this is in-your-face (in-your-nose) intense brutal hops. Taste is just as intensely brutal. Very sweet crunchy toasted malts, crisp caramel, strong alcohol bite, brutal resinous piney bitterness with citrus fruits and floral notes showing up here and there. Alcohol is surprisingly very apparent, or maybe it is the bitterness that is so biting that it felt like there was an alcohol bite. Certainly in my top-5 most over-the-top IPAs ever. I’m a hophead so I enjoyed this beer, but honestly this beer is the triple-decker bacon cheeseburger of IPAs, no class, over-the-top but also very enjoyable for the targeted demographic. Boundary Bay descriptions says “… aggressive fresh hop quality …”, clearly this is a brewer who puts his money where his mouth is, he probably catches a lot of germs.
